041611-aiko-main.jpgNow that she’s single again, Aiko Melendez is very much happy to go back to her first love, which is acting. She will be reunited with ex-husband Jomari Yllana as they play the parents of child star Bugoy Cariño in the upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye Atom. In an interview, Aiko joked about her on screen reunion with Jomari. “I’m happy to be single again. Hay!

Aiko also talked about her split from Bulacan Mayor Patrick Meneses, though the actress chose to respect the latter’s private life. The actress nevertheless shared her wish that someday she and Patrick will be on good terms. Honestly ayoko siyang pagusapan kasi magiging unfair for him because hindi naman siya artista. He’s a very private person.

Regarding her second ex-husband, former model Martin Jickain, Aiko said that they are good friends at the moment and very much involved in raising their daughter Marthena. “Martin and I are okay. Good vibes lang.”

Aiko added that she is just thankful that despite the failed marriage, she managed to establish a good friendship with her Jomari and Martin. “Hindi ko mako-compare ‘yung level. Magkaiba silang tao. Martin is younger than Jomari. Si Martin nakakausap ko nang more pabiro, si Jom naman shoulder to cry on. ‘Wag na nating i-compare.”

With her two failed marriages and a recent split, the 35-year-old actress said that she has learned a lot of lessons, but this doesn’t mean that she’s already giving up on love. E kung in the end magiging masaya naman pala ako.”

She went on to joke about her upcoming project with Jomari, which might pave the way for them to get back together. “We’ll never know, baka bumalik ako dun sa strike one ko (Jomari).
