Yeng Constantino talks about her almost romance with Jayson Fernandez and her thoughts on falling in love.
At the MYX Music Awards last March 16, Yeng Constantino was overwhelmed with happiness as she bagged five major awards including Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Music Video (for “Jeepney Love Story”), Favorite Song (“Jeepney Love Story”), Favorite MYX Celebrity VJ, and Favorite Collaboration with 6CycleMind and Kean Cipriano (for “Kung Wala Na Nga”). But when Push.com.ph
asked if she had a special someone to whom she would like to dedicates her success, the talented artist said that she has no love life at the moment. “Hindi naman ako malungkot kahit walang
love life. Lahat ng ginagawa ko ngayon
for God, for His glory, next is my family and then my supporters.
,” she began.
Yeng further shared that there have been a few guys who inspired her to keep on writing love songs, but nothing really blossomed into a full-fledged romance. “Siyempre hindi ko maidedeny na wala akong nararamdaman. May mga
crush crush talaga, may mga hinahangaan akong lalaki. May mga ganon siyempre, na kapag kinaibigan ka... mas gusto mo siyempre yung nag
friendship. Tsaka mo sasabihin na, ‘Uy
ok ‘to ah, mabait.’ I-che
,” she joked.
Yeng was romantically linked to Rivermaya’s frontman Jayson Fernandez last year. Yeng clarified however, that they soon realized that they’re better off as friends than a romantic couple. “Ay oo. May
girlfriend na yun ha! Anong nangyari sa amin? Siguro hindi lang kami swak. Mabait siya, walang mali e. Pero siguro
personalities, kailangan meron kayong
connection. As a friend may
connection kami, pero yung aspetong
in a relationship wala.
Although it was unfortunate that things didn’t work out between them, Yeng stressed that she believes that she will find the right guy for her in God’s time. “Siguro kasi kaya hindi ako naghahanap dahil kumpleto ako,
and I think yung mga taong kumpleto, sila talaga yung
ready na magkaroon ng
relationship kasi ibig sabihin
willing na sila at ready magpakasal.
The 22-year-old added that she has also learned not to limit her ideal boyfriend to musicians. “Before bina
is the perfect one for me. Hindi man kailangan sobrang pareho pero yung magko-
complement kami sa isa’t isa,
” she concluded.
