Agot Isidro considers singing as her first love

got Isidro seemed to have set aside singing for a while to focus more on acting. She had been very visible on TV for the past couple of years with one teleserye after another, from Tayong Dalawa, Tanging Yaman, Idol, Agimat presents Bianong Bulag, and now in the upcoming daytime mystery drama Nasaan Ka Elisa? The 44-year-old actress/singer said that TV work was primarily the reason singing took the backseat for a while. “Ako rin nami-miss ko na ang singing. Pero so far wala pang plano for an album or a show. This teleserye kasi, matagal pa ang tatakbuhin. Three days in a week ang taping namin so wala na ako masyadong time na gumawa ng ibang trabaho gaya ng singing.

She explained though that as soon as taping for Nasaan Ka Elisa? wraps up, she is hoping to finally have time to record a new album or do more singing engagements. Agot said she still considers music as her first love. “Maybe next year, hopefully I can go back to singing. Hinding-hindi ko igi-give yup ‘yun. That’s my first love.”

Agot is the voice behind the timeless OPM ballads entitled “Sa Isip Ko,” “Everyday,” and “Beginning Today.” Her last studio album was in 2009 entitled White Lace and Promises. Agot shared that when she plans to return to singing, she hopes she can collaborate with the new breed of music stars like Christian Bautista, Jed Madela, and Richard Poon
