031811-kris_main.jpgA birthday-themed celebration was held for Kris Aquino and her son Bimby (James Yap Jr.) as they were officially launched as ambassadors of White King Fiesta Spaghetti. The program even included a special production number courtesy of the kids from Bahay Maria—the Bel-Air Makati-based orphanage, which happen to be a longtime beneficiary of the Aquino and Concepcion (owner of RFM Corporation) families. “When they presented it to me and they said that it’s the number one spaghetti, nakita ko na it’s the most affordable and superior yung quality. It was not a hard decision to make kasi favorite food talaga ni Bimby, carbonara. Kasi Ai-Ai (de las Alas) taught me how to make carbonara and Bimby really loves her recipe,” she said during the press con last March 17.

Bimby is turning four years old on April 19, but Kris said that they will be out of the country by then. “We won’t be here. We will be on the Mexican Riviera, may Disney Cruise, that was my promise to them. The cruise departs on Palm Sunday, ten nights yung cruise, all Disney, so lahat ng posibleng mapanood at magawa ng Disney magagawa na namin. Kasi feeling ko, only the next two more years na ganon ang obsession niya, tapos magmu-move on na kami.”

Kris further shared that Bimby’s asking for more toy guns for his birthday. Although other parents might criticize her for indulging her child’s inclination, the Queen of All Media reasoned that at least Bimby favors manly activities. “Ayoko na lang sinasabi kasi baka sabihin naman ng mga magulang, ‘Itong si Kris naman na ‘to, baril ang nireregalo!’ E wala ako magagawa kasi lahat naman ng ano, sinabi naman ni Ninong Boy (Abunda), ‘You should be happy he likes guns (laughs)!’ Sinabi din ni James (Yap) na walang masama dun kung yun ang gusto kasi lalaking-lalaki talaga. I’m not saying that there’s anything wrong with being gay, but of course I want to encourage his manhood. E ‘di okay, go sa baril. Pero yung Nerf lang binibili namin na baril para mas safe, kasi yung iba, yung may pellet, ayoko yun,” she explained.

As early as now, Kris revealed that she had also secured Bimby’s future by investing his earnings from their various endorsements in real estate and other profitable endeavors. “May real estate siya. O! Tapos meron siyang ano, yung parang all the way, it’s called a living trust, [kaya lang] mahabang explanation pa yun. Tapos meron siyang both dollar and peso educational fund in the event na gusto niya, basta yun… Actually, starting grade 1, wala na ako babayaran sa tuition, kasi sa unang commercial pa lang niya, na-secure ko na.”

When asked if there’s a possibility that her ex-husband James would be interested in Bimby’s money, Kris was quick to say that there’s no reason for him to that especially in light of their hefty settlement. “No. Okay, in all fairness to James, I honestly don’t think pagkakainteresan niya yung pera ng anak niya. Mabuting tao naman siya na hindi niya aagawan si Bimby, hindi ka naman aagaw sa three year-old.” There were rumors that Kris gave James 42 million pesos as part of their formal agreement, but she kept mum about the specifics. “Kasi ang kapalit nun I have a son like Bimby so I don’t care.”

What about the five million-peso property in San Mateo which was supposedly her birthday gift to James last year? “Ay naku! Huwag na nating pag-usapan, kasi lahat ng materyal na bagay maibabalik naman. Ang importante may peace of mind at ang importante hindi na kami nag-aaway dahil hindi talaga healthy sa bata na nag-aaway ang mga magulang.”

On a lighter note, Kris mentioned that she ha
