Robin Padilla admits that he wants Mariel Rodriguez to be a June bride

030111-robin_main.jpgAfter a surprise wedding in India last year, Robin Padilla said that he and Mariel Rodriguez plan to hold a church wedding in the Philippines within the year. The Tum: My Pledge of Love star said he has already picked out a church located out of town, but declined to share any more details as he plans to make it a big surprise for his wife. Although they are both currently busy promoting the romantic love story shot entirely in India, Robin said he plans on focusing on the wedding after the movie premieres. “Gusto [ko] maging June bride si Mariel,” Robin shared with the press during the Tum: My Pledge of Love presscon held last February 26 at Annabel’s restaurant in Quezon City.

Although there were reports that the couple had initially planned to hold it last Christmas or on Valentine’s Day this year, but Robin explained the reason for postponing their church nuptials.

After getting married in a Muslim ceremony in August last year, Robin says that he and Mariel are already content with their status but they decided to also hold a Catholic ceremony in consideration for their loved ones.

Unlike the characters they play in Tum: My Pledge of Love, Robin said he and Mariel have not encountered any problems despite their different religions. “Wala, wala talaga. Mga tao lang ang magugulo,” said Robin, who also wrote and directed the film.

The 41-year old action star also shared that he and Mariel have also agreed not to have nay children for at least two more years. Siguro ngayon wala muna yung baby, magseselos ako nun,” he admitted.
