Is Luis Manzano still not on good terms with Mariel Rodriguez?

022611-luis_main.jpgIn a recent interview with Push.com.ph, Luis Manzano admitted that he’s yet to have a heart-to-heart talk with Mariel Rodriguez other than the face-to-face interview that they did for Entertainment Live. They still haven’t had the chance to thresh out what really went wrong with their friendship last year. “Hindi, wala na [akong sama ng loob]. Tapos na yun sa akin. I just wish na things could have been better dun sa interview na yun. Kasi sila ni Toni (Gonzaga), before nag-start yung Happy Yipee Yehey! nakapag-usap sila ng maayos, kaya siguro yung transition was easier for them. Sa amin kasi ni Mariel, ang unang harap namin, stage e, sa E Live, medyo mahirap. Medyo magiging times two or times three yung awkward phase na yun. Kumbaga there are a lot more things to talk about behind the camera,” he began.

When asked how he feels that Mariel is a bit defensive about whatever their rift was about, Luis merely replied, “Sabi ko nga… naku, hahaba na naman ito. Kung ano man yung [reaction niya] sa E Live, kasi ako, honestly, hindi ko napanood yun e. Pero kumabaga I’m sure Mariel got her point across sa akin and I know that I got my point across as well, so let’s just leave it at that.” At the very least, Luis was honest enough to say that it would take time before he and Mariel could be good friends again. “Mahirap-hirap [ibalik yung dati naming kulitan] kasi unang-una kailangan natin isipin na ang scenario ay ibang-iba na yung dynamics. But siguro, you’ll never know.”

The fact that Mariel and Toni were able to rekindle their friendship was enough reason for him to believe that it could happen to him and Mariel in the future. “Sino ba naman ako para magsara ng pinto? I’ve said this time and time again, kung sila nga dati ni Toni talagang close as sisters, medyo mas matindi yung mga binato sa kanilang issue and yet naayos nila. Ano ba naman yung sa amin? Konting-konti lang. Oo, mahirap [ibalik sa dati ang may lamat na], pero hindi imposible. Kailangan siya i-work out. Hindi porket nagkalamat, madaling ayusin yun. Pwede remedyuhan pero ’di madali, matagal na proseso yun,” he explained.

On a lighter note, Luis was happy to see that Mariel made a successful comeback as one of the hosts of the noontime show Happy Yipee Yehey! “It goes to show na she really has something to offer. Yung mga ibang artists nga kahit hindi nawawala e… Kasi si Mariel she was on hiatus pero nakabalik. Pero yung ibang artists nga ‘di naman nagbabakasyon pero nawawala pa rin. So it only goes to show that she has something to offer.”

Luis was also glad to know that Mariel is really enjoying her married life with Robin Padilla. “Sabi ko nga sa kanya, ‘I’m very happy for you in this new endeavor na pinasok mo.’ Isa sa mga dream ni Mariel is to be treated like a princess, and I’m sure she is being treated like a princess.”
