Last February 20, the Grand Pavilion of The Grand Terrace in Tandang Sora, Quezon City was transformed into a court fit for a rock princess when Empress celebrated her 18th birthday with a big bash. Empress, who was hands-on with all the preparations, admitted that she had already started planning for her debut late last year. According to Mary Anne Dela Rama, event coordinator from Special Activities Management, "The theme Empress wanted was Rocker Chick. This was all the idea of Empress. She was very, very, very hands-on in terms of preparation. Ever since bata pa daw siya, ito na yung ini-envision niya. The rocker chick represents the personality of the debutante. A combination what we see from her on TV is a sweet beautiful girl na mahinhin. But the other side of Empress that we don'rsquo;t usually see is her love for music. Yung rocker side niya. We wanted to showcase the two personalities niya."

Despite opting to forego having an escort, Empress was happy nonetheless with the turnout. "Masaya ako, sana every birthday ko ganito na lang. Medyo hands-on din ako kaya marami kaming gumagawa nito so mabuti naman maganda yung kinalabasan," she said. To coincide with her rocker-chick theme, instead of floral arrangements, 27 pink electronic guitars flown in from China served as table masterpieces. Guests were requested to arrive in their own interpretations of rocker chick fashion and bands like The Rainmakers, 3 A.M., and Art 'amp; Soul provided music from different genres.

Empress wore a pink and black gown by Pepsi Herrera during the program, but changed into a sexy black dress during her performance of Rihanna'rsquo;s "Love The Way You Lie" which she performed with Dino Imperial. Two of her best friends Melissa Ricks and Kitkat were the program hosts for the evening, but Churigogobaschu members Erich Gonzales, Beauty Gonzalez, and Kim Chiu were also present. Empress admitted that this was the first time this year that their barkada was in complete attendance and the debutante hoped that their outing would put an end to intrigues about their friendship. "Siyempre masaya ako. Sa lahat naman ng mga'nbsp; barkada, masaya talaga pag nabubuo. Wala naman kaming problema. Alam namin sa isa'rsquo;t isa kung ano yung totoo," she said.

Although she got into an accident at home two days before the party which resulted in five stitches on her forehead, Empress chose to not let the fact get her down and just focus on her special night. "Nung February 18 ng madaling araw, mga 4 am, may glass door kasi ako sa walk-in closet ko na sliding [door] so nung mag-c-CR ako, naglalakad ako papunta CR, akala ko bukas siya yun pala nakasarado so dire-diretso ako. Ayan po, sa kamay, sa noo at sa ilong. Five stitches siya so mas naagapan," she explained.

Jake Cuenca made it in time to join the 18 Roses dance, along with Enchong Dee, Felix Roco, Matt Evans, Ejay Falcon, Angelo Patrimonio, and Dino Imperial. Also seen enjoying the party were guests Jennylyn Mercado, Ahron Villena, AJ Perez, Sam Concepcion, Andi Eigenmann, Lauren Young, Makisig Morales, Helga Krapf, and Rhap Salazar. The birthday buffet was a mixture of Japanese, Spanish, Italian, American, and
