Vic Sotto talks about his first impression of Bea Alonzo and their first shooting day together.
Push.com.ph got the chance to visit Vic Sotto and Bea Alonzo on the set of their first movie team-up at Kanlaon, Manila yesterday, February 22. It was obvious that the two had already established a good rapport as they kept laughing with their other co-stars every time they'rsquo;d play back their scenes together on the monitor. "Nung una, pinagtanong ko muna how she is, kung mabait ba siya. Lahat ng nadinig ko was positive'mdash;mabait na bata, masipag sa trabaho, walang arti (laughs). I think lahat ng nadinig ko totoo. It'rsquo;s only her first day on the set but I feel comfortable right now, magaan yung personalidad ni Bea," said Vic who'rsquo;s very impressed with Bea'rsquo;s good attitude at work.
He also added that there'rsquo;s no reason for a young star like Bea to feel intimidated by him. "Wala namang bossing bossing pagdating sa pelikula. So siyempre yung ilangan 'lsquo;di naman mawawala yun. Siguro baka mamaya lang ok na kami. I am very excited to work with her. Dati nga pinapanood ko lang siya sa sine tapos ngayon kasama ko na siya. Tapos yung role pa niya medyo kakaiba sa mga dati niyang ginagawa."
The fact that this is a joint project between Star Cinema and M-Zet Productions makes it all the more exciting. When asked how it came about, Vic revealed that it was Malou Santos who initiated a meeting with him. "Originally, idea yun ng Star Cinema, sina Ms. Malou Santos and Tess Fuentes asked for a meeting with me. I sat down with them and I found out kung anong project. Wala na kaming pangalawang usap pa. Right there and then nagsara na kami ng deal. The project that was presented to me was with Zaijian Jaranilla. Dun pa lang I gave it a thumbs up already. Later on I found out na si Bea ang makakasama ko, so double thumbs up." 'nbsp;
After the success of Si Agimat at Si Enteng Kabisote, there is much anticipation if Vic'rsquo;s movie with Bea would also be a box office hit. But the dashing comedian refused to be pressured by his fans'rsquo; expectations as early as now. "As always, I don'rsquo;t want to expect na lang. Ang focus lang namin ay mapahusay ang trabaho namin, give it all we'rsquo;ve got, give it a hundred percent, para ng sa ganon yung mga manonood talagang mag-e-enjoy. Sa tingin ko naman kami naman ni Bea and Zaijian, I think we'rsquo;ll have a lot of fun doing this movie."
Vic also gave a few clues as to what the story of their yet-untitled-movie is all about. "Ako'rsquo;y isang faith healer na gumagamit ng alternative medicine. By stroke of faith nakilala ko si Zaijian who's from heaven, na siya yung talagang may powers to heal people. On the side, si Bea naman is a doctor of medicine. So it'rsquo;s a clash between science and faith healing. So kung papaano kami magka-clash at magkakagustuhan yun ang malaking problema."
The actor clarified that they'rsquo;re not required to do kissing scenes this time around. "<
