Jayson Gainza doesnt want to be stuck in comedy

Jayson Gainza is very thankful to ABS-CBN that after being part of last year'rsquo;s teleserye Agua Bendita, he has been given the chance to be in a primetime drama again, this time around in the new fantaserye Mutya. Jayson, who is more known as a comedian primarily for his sketches in the gag show Banana Split, said teleseryes enables him to also explore his capability to become a little serious on screen.

Mutya, a fantaserye that follows the life of a child mermaid, is being compared to other numerous dramas that had plots about mermaids. Jayson said that in Mutya it will be the first time that viewers will get to see a very young mermaid, but he refused to say if in time the title character will grow up in the course of the series. He also talked about the important lesson that the teleserye will espouse to the audience.

Jayson also talked about ABS-CBN'rsquo;s newest discovery, four-year-old Mutya Orquia who plays the title role in the fantaserye.

Aside from Mutya, which shoots every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, Jayson also works on Tuesdays and Thursdays for Banana Split. Because of his packed schedule, Jayson revealed he recently lost the chance to do a movie.
