'Green Rose' leading man Jericho Rosales denies that he's signing up with another network.
Jericho Rosales said that there is no truth to issues that he will supposedly switch networks, adding that he will remain loyal to ABS-CBN. "Ever since talaga kahit na dumating 'lsquo;yung iba'rsquo;t-ibang offers sa akin I stayed with ABS-CBN because I don'rsquo;t like burning bridges," Jericho explained at Chowking'rsquo;s Chinese New Year celebration held at Mercato Centrale at the Fort last Tuesday, February 15. "All my friends are there, my favorite directors are there, lahat. I love ABS-CBN."
But he explained that he is willing to work with celebrities outside ABS-CBN. "I'rsquo;m not saying I'rsquo;m moving [to another TV network]. I'rsquo;m just saying I'rsquo;m open to working with other artists, with other producers and I just want to experience that." He continued that he does not mind working with a different movie outfit for the sake of experience. "But with all due respect and gratitude and appreciation to Star Cinema and ABS-CBN, they were the ones who helped me build my career."
Speaking of movies, Jericho is keeping himself optimistic that his first international film, Subject: I Love You, will finally get a playdate in the international scene really soon. The said movie also stars Hollywood actress Briana Evigan, who plays Echo'rsquo;s leading lady. "We'rsquo;re praying about it para maipalabas siya this year or soon. Marami pa silang inaayos kasi actually the thing is medyo naging busy na rin si Briana." The movie'rsquo;s trailer was shown at the recent Valentine concert of Jericho and he said that he was pleased with it. "Ako rin kinilig dun sa trailer. Hindi ko pa siya napanood ng todo-todo [until the concert]," he said.
Echo said that he is confident that the talents of Filipino actors are on par with international actors. "Kahit third world country tayo 'lsquo;yung quality na ginagawa natin world class," he said with pride.
He recalled that before he got the part in Subject: I Love You, Echo flew all the way to the United States and auditioned. Other Filipino actors in the film include Gary Valenciano and Joel Torre.
The lead actor of the teleserye Green Rose related that he also saw how different a foreign production team treats its actors. "Kapag nasa US, I had my own trailer. Iba, eh ibang klase. I worked only 12 hours a day and on the 13th hour sinasabi nila, 'lsquo;Sorry sir ganyan-ganyan, nag-extend na.'rsquo; Ang respect nila for actors andun talaga."
He added that he was inspired by this positive atmosphere and is hoping that the local industry will adopt the same practice. "Malaki ang pangarap ko sa industry natin especially sa movie industry natin kasi andami-daming magaling, sobra. In fact sa technology now, kaya na nating gumawa ng magaganda, 'lsquo;di ba? I think what we need lang para masuportahan lang ang industry natin is trust and paniniwala [sa kakayahan natin&
