Dingdong Avanzado says his wife has no problem with him working with ex-girlfriend Rachel Alejandro
Dingdong Avanzado just laughed when, at the press launch of Kulturang Lahi Inuuna Ko (KLIK) 'ndash; a partnership program between the Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mangaawit and Taguig 2nd District Representative Freddie Ti'ntilde;ga 'ndash; he was informed that a rumor once again surfaced claiming he and wife Jessa Zaragoza have broken up. Dingdong told Push.com.ph, "We'rsquo;re okay. We'rsquo;re going on our tenth year this coming March. Both of us are still looking forward to that. We still live in one house. Masaya kami ngayon. I can say that with straight face. The respect is always there kaya I feel na we'rsquo;ll stay together."
The singer-composer explained that though his marriage to Jessa is not perfect, there is still love and respect in their relationship. "Ang lahat ng relationships dumadaan sa pagsubok. We'rsquo;re no different from other couples out there. We also have disagreements. But to say that our marriage is on the rocks, I would like to believe that we'rsquo;re far from that. For as long as I feel that we'rsquo;re both committed sa sinumpaan namin, we'rsquo;ll stay together for better or for worse."
Dingdong added that in the numerous times that they have been rumored to have parted ways already, he and Jessa have gotten used to intrigues. "Hindi lang naman kami ang nachichismis na ganyan. Maski sina Brad (Pitt) and Angelina (Jolie) laging sinasabi maghihiwalay na raw, but they are still together. Siguro kapag may disagreement kami, tapos makakarating kami sa iba, aakalain na nila na maghihiwalay na kami. Sa showbiz talagang nama-magnified lahat ng bagay. Also siguro kasi sa showbiz mas marami 'lsquo;yung naghihiwalay kaysa sa nagtatagal. Kami ng wife ko we just see it as part ng industriyang kinabibilangan namin."
He further denies speculations that Jessa is forbidding him from working and being friends with his ex-girlfriend, singer Rachel Alejandro. According to Dingdong, his wife has no problem if he works with Rachel. "Jessa has embraced the idea na there'rsquo;s really a clamor for me and Rachel to work together from time to time. My wife totally understands that it'rsquo;s just work and my friendship with Rachel goes way before I met Jessa. There'rsquo;s nothing more than friendship sa amin ni Rachel. Si Jessa naman very supportive kapag may show kami ni Rachel. Wala siyang problema." Dingdong and Rachel will do a show together this February 26 at the Casino Filipino in Angeles City, Pampanga.
While busy mostly doing out-of-town shows, Dingdong also serves as a Board Member of OPM which is currently headed by Ogie Alcasid. OPM has begun its aggressive efforts to uplift the problematic condition of the local music industry. Dingdong shared that one of OPM'rsquo;s plight is for the writing off of amusement tax on local concerts. "Masyado nang namamatay 'lsquo;yung industriya natin and kami sa OPM ang isa sa nakita naming way para matulungan ang mga local artists and producers na alisin or at least bawasan 'lsquo;yung tax. This is to encourage producers to produce more show for local artists."
