Enchong Dee to spend Christmas with his family in Singapore

122211-enchong_main.jpgEnchong Dee has worked hard to achieve his current leading man status, something which makes him grateful that ABS-CBN continues to give him a chance to star in top-rating teleseryes like Maria La del Barrio. “Nakakatuwa kasi nung nagsisimula ako nasa gilid lang ako kapag ABS-CBN Christmas Special. Kumbaga unti-unti [nagle-level up]. Ngayon ako naniniwala na kapag pinagbutihan mo talaga yung trabaho mo, you’ll see improvements [in your showbiz career],” said Enchong in an interview with Push.com.ph.

To reward himself for all his hard work, Enchong shared that he plans to spend Christmas with his family in Singapore. “Pupunta kami dun buong family at saka yung tumulong sa akin everyday sa taping, my personal assistant, I’ll bring them. Every year naman [tini-treat ko sila] kasi ito yung panahon namin magsama-sama lahat ng walang trabaho. Christmas gift ko na sa kanila yun. Five days kami dun. Pero dito kami sa Manila magse-celebrate ng New Year para swerte.”

Just like other traditional families, Enchong added that he welcomes the coming year by following a few superstitious beliefs for good luck. “Siyempre may paputok, tapos maghahanda ng pasta para pampahaba ng buhay at mga bilog na prutas. Oo, naniniwala kami sa ganong pamahain. Wala naman masama kung susunod ka dun, wala naman mawawala sa’yo. E di kung may darating e ‘di good luck.”

Asked if there’s anything he’d like to buy for himself this Christmas, the young actor revealed that his latest investment is to build his dream home. “Meron na akong gift sa sarili ko for the whole year. Something good. Tatawagin ko kayo kapag na-bless-an na. Wala pang bahay. Nagsisimula pa lang gawin. Yun talaga ang pinagiipunan ko at regalo ko para sa birthday ko, sa Pasko, sa New Year, sa Valentine’s, lahat na ng okasyon,” he stated with a laugh.

What does his family says about his success at the age of 22? “Basta lagi nila akong pinaaalalahanan na ‘wag lang magbabago, ‘wag lag pasaway, wag pilyo.”
