Ai-Ai delas Alas hopes to win the Box Office Queen title again for the 2011 MMFF

121711-aiai-main.jpgInstead of being nervous about her rivals for the Box Office Queen Award this coming Metro Manila Film Festival, Ai-Ai delas Alas is confident that her team-up with Vic Sotto in Enteng Ng Ina Mo will give her that title again. Kung wala si Tito Alfie, e di wala,” she said in jest when asked about her toughest rival this year. Minsan iisipin natin paano kaya nangyari yun? Pambata, pampamilya, napakagandang pelikula.

Ai-Ai refused to comment though when the local media prodded her about director Wenn Deramas’ absence in this latest Tanging Ina movie franchise. As it is, Direk Wenn was once considered to be part of the project; but it was later granted to director Tony Y. Reyes who reportedly made the original concept for the merged film of Ai-Ai and Vic. Yung mga panganay nandiyan—mga mayari, mga boss,” she stated with a laugh.

Ai-Ai admitted that she also made an investment in Enteng Ng Ina Mo together with film outfits, Star Cinema and M-Zet Productions among others. “Opo, binigyan ako ng konting [share] ng Star Cinema. Yung kay bossing (referring to Vic, owner of M-Zet Productions) ang malaki.”

Enteng Ng Ina Mo is showing on December 25 in theaters nationwide.
