Coco Martin admits it is a new kind of acting challenge for him this time in 'Walang Hanggan.'
After the success of Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin
for which he received awards and nominations from various notable organizations like the Gawad Urian, the KBP Golden Dove Awards, Golden Screen Awards, and Star Awards for TV, Coco Martin has definitely come a long way from his humble beginnings as an indie film actor.
Next year, the 30-year-old actor is set to headline another major primetime series entitled Walang Hanggan
, which is adapted from the classic 1991 film Hihintayin Kita Sa Langit
. Coco will be reprising the role of Richard Gomez (who will also be part of the cast of Walang Hanggan
) while Julia Montes will be playing the role originally played by Dawn Zulueta. "Sobrang
excited kami. Alam namin kung gaano namin pinaghirapan yung proyekto at bilang
first time ko din makakasama sila
Mr. Richard Gomez, Ms. Dawn Zulueta, si
Ms. Susan Roces at
Ms. Helen Gamboa," he shared with Push.com.ph
Coco said that he is currently gearing up for the major Kapamilya project, making sure to do a lot of research on romance dramas from the past. "Wala namang sobrang matinding
preparation. Basta ang ginawa ko lang yung manuod ng manuod ng manuod ng mga
love story noon. Ang sabi ko nga, panibagong
challenge sa akin ito kasi
first time ko gagawa talaga ng
pure love story," he admitted.
Coco said people can expect to see him in a different kind of drama this time. "Malaki ang kaibahan nito sa mga dati kong nagawa kasi talagang nakaka
-in love ito eh. Talagang pa-i-
in love-in kayo dun sa
story. Hindi ko pa masasabi kung may
action eh. Pero
focused talaga ito sa
love story and about family. Family drama din siya,
" he explained.
For Christmas and New Year, the talented actor said that he is really looking forward to spending more time with his family. "Wala pa talagang mga
plan po, baka sa bahay lang, magpapahinga
and then siguro magtutuon ng
time para sa
family. Resolution ko kasi
for next year is sana ma-
manage ko yung
time ko sa
work at saka sa
family kasi medyo sobrang
busy ako ngayon na nawawalan ako ng
family," he admitted.
Coco also quashed any speculations people may have about him transferring networks. "Masaya ako. Nakikita niyo naman lahat ng ginagawa ko. Sobrang saya ng pasko sa
ABS-CBN. Thank you at Kapamilya ako
," he said.
Next year, among the projects Coco has lined up are movies with Judy Ann Santos and Star Power
Grand Winner Angeline Quinto.
