Anne Curtis says there should be no comparison between the success of her and Vice Ganda's movies

110911-anne_main.jpgWith Vice Ganda’s film Praybeyt Benjamin having hit the P200-million mark last week at the box office and continuing to do well in theaters nationwide, the comedian’s film is now being pitted against that of his good friend Anne Curtis’s No Other Woman, which is currently holds the title of top grossing local movie of all time. Some say that there is a chance that Praybeyt Benjamin might surpass No Other Woman.

However, Anne shrugged off the competition and said that she would rather take this issue positively. “Well, it’s still a box office hit [just like No Other Woman] kasi magkaibang genre naman,” she explained. “Napaka-wholesome ng Praybeyt Benjamin compared to No Other Woman, so they’re both box office hits in their own way, I guess.”

She added that the triumph of both movies is a good sign for the local film industry. “I guess the positive thing about this is nabuhay ang industriyang pelikulang Pilipino. I was reading an article in [a broadsheet], how they said it’s so refreshing to see two different films of different genres making it big. Any issue being made about it I think it should be taken in a positive way,” she stated.

Anne also said good-naturedly that she is not threatened with the possibility that Vice Ganda might rob her of the chance to win the Box Office Queen title. “Hindi naman. Siya (Vice) nga ‘yung the one and only Box Office Gay, hahaha! Of course, sa sister ko lang ang title na ‘yon kasi when you think about it he’s the only gay who made it this big. Nakaka-proud especially when I know my co-Viva sister at sister ko din sa totoong buhay, twin sister ko.

She added that she is happy about Vice’s success since she was also blessed with a box office film recently. “Naman! Super-duper happy siya.” Anne also shared that Vice confided to her just a few days after the opening of Praybeyt Benjamin to tell her how ecstatic he was about the big turnout of moviegoers. “So there’s no issue [between us] at all,” Anne assured.

Anne also revealed that she is set to renew her contract with ABS-CBN really soon and her management is currently negotiating with the TV network. She said that she is also set to do a teleserye in 2012.
