Charice and her mother settle differences with her dad's family

110211-charice_main.jpgRaquel Pempengco, international star Charice’s mom burst into tears as soon as she got to the wake of her ex-husband Ricky Pempengco in Funeraria Miraculous Medal in Binan, Laguna. She hugged her sister-in-law and handed over the white suit Charice wanted her dead father to wear at the funeral.

According to TV Patrol’s Ginger Conejero, Raquel begged off from interviews and according to her sister Grace Mendoza, the family is requesting for privacy and that everything is ok between the the two families.  This is after Ricky’s sister Russel gave a statement that Charice might be happy now that her father is dead and to which the singer angrily replied to on her Twitter account (read story HERE). Charice however later on deleted her message.

Raquel also stated that she understands the sentiments of her ex-husband’s relatives and hopes this might be the time for their families to fix their differences. She adds that even though they have been separated for years, her children Charice and Carl have the right to grieve for their father.

Charice arrived in Manila from Hong Kong yesterday for her father’s burial after stating she will not be present at the Singapore leg of the “David Foster and Friends” tour where she is one of the featured stars.  In a tweet to her Singapore fans, Charice promises to see them next year. "I am very sorry to all my fans from Singapore. I am not going to be there to be part of David Foster and Friends concert. I have to go back to the Philippines as soon as possible to be with my family. I hope you all understand. I love you all and I will see you next year," she said.

She also stated that she hopes the authorities will help their family bring justice for her dad’s untimely death.
