The Ultimate Multimedia star says her project with Piolo Pascual was one of the original projects ABS-CBN discussed with her when she transferred networks.
After the success of her 10 year anniversary concert in Araneta Coliseum last October 2, Toni Gonzaga admits that she is now focused on her upcoming projects for the year, which includes the launch of the biggest edition of Pinoy Big Brother
at the end of the month and meetings for a proposed movie project with Piolo Pascual. Toni, who first came into the limelight via a popular softdrink commercial opposite the matinee idol, says it is one of her dreams to finally be able to do a film with Piolo. “Kasi
when I transferred to ABS-CBN, that was actually one of the initial projects na alam kong gagawin ko. Na makakatrabaho ko siya. Kaso madaming nangyari
along the way, na-
delay ng na-
delay,” she admits. The Happy Yipee Yehey!
host admits that talks for their movie would’ve happened earlier if it were not for the unexpected popularity of PBB season one. “Kasi nung
time na yun ang dami kong
hosting jobs and at the same time dahil sumikat yung PBB tapos sobrang sikat yung mga
housemates tapos si
-link sa akin
, so parang nagkaroon ng
Sam and Toni loveteam.
TV,” she explains during her thanksgiving presscon at Don Henrico’s restaurant in Tomas Morato, Quezon City.
Toni says that although there has been no definite details regarding he movie yet, it is a now in her line-up of upcoming projects. “Ngayon
in the last meeting that we had, merong naka-
Piolo project so I’m really looking forward to that kasi hinintay ko siya ng sampung taon
. I think there are a lot of scripts na pinag-aaralan
,” she says. Now that she was able to guest Piolo in her concert, Toni says they were both excited at the prospect of finally working together on the big screen. “Yun ang pinagdarasal namin ni
PJ, na sana
when given the chance ay makatrabaho ko din siya,
” she adds.
Now that her major concert for the year is done and she can focus on work again, Toni admits she is not worried about neglecting her singing career for hosting and acting again. “Ako kasi kung ano lang yung ibigay sa akin, dun ako. Ang hirap naman kasi na sabihin ko na gusto ko lang mag
singing tapos wala naman tayong masyadong
offers or ginagawa sa
whatever opportunities come my way, yun lang ang ginagawa naming ngayon kasi di ba nga s
trike while the iron is hot?
go,” she says. But Toni admits she is also open to the possibility of pursuing an international career someday. “Siguro wala namang pinoy na hindi nangarap n asana makilala din tay
o internationally. I think that’s every artists dream, to be discovered and recognized hindi lang
dito sa bansa natin
but also in different parts of the world. Pangarap pa rin yan na nasa
back of my mind.
o,” she explains.
