Toni Gonzaga admits she will miss working with Mariel Rodriguez on Pinoy Big Brother

100811-toni-main.jpgAfter the success of her recent 10th showbiz anniversary concert, Toni Gonzaga is now gearing up for the return of Pinoy Big Brother. “By the end of the month, bubuksan na yung pinakamalaking season ng PBB. This is going to be the grandest season ever. Kasi sobrang laki ng gagawin nilang pasabog. So exciting yun. yun ang pinaghahandaan ko sa ngayon,” she shared during her thanksgiving presscon last October 6 at Don Henrico’s restaurant in Quezon City.

The 27-year-old host said she is not sure if Mariel Rodriguez will be replaced as host on the Kapamilya reality show, but she would welcome whoever will join her and Bianca Gonzalez in PBB. “Siyempre kami, welcome sa PBB na kahit sinong maging Kapamilya namin doon because PBB is like a family to me and kung ano man ang mga changes, we’re willing to embrace everything and work together for the betterment of the show. Kung ano man ang desisyon ng management, we will abide with whatever it is,” she added.

According to Toni, Mariel’s decision to not renew her contract with Pinoy Big Brother will affect the show. “Definitely may malaking pagbabago. May malaking adjustment na mangyayari, but we should all move on and the show must go on and siguro it’s up to the management kung ano ang mga bagong pangyayaring aabangan nila,” she said.

The pretty singer-actress said she will also miss working with her co-host, whom she is also used to seeing daily in Happy Yipee Yehey! “Definitely she will be missed. For almost five years na nagkatrabaho kami, siyempre sanay ka na rin katrabaho siya kasi kabisado mo na rin. May mga pagbabago talaga, may mga changes but siyempre hindi natin kontrolado lahat at hindi natin hawak ang mga nangyayari so all we can do is just wish for the best and hope everything will turn out well,” she said.

Toni said she appreciated the support Mariel gave her by showing up for her concert [email protected] with Bianca. The two were seen enjoying the show from the front row of the Araneta Coliseum. Mariel even texted her to congratulate her on the show and share what her favorite parts were. “Kasi nung nasa Happy Yipee Yehey! pa kami, nung conceptualization pa lang ng concert, sabi niya talaga sa akin na manunuod siya. Alam ko sila ni Bianca bumili sila ng ticket,” she said. Toni also shrugged off any issues questioning their present friendship. “Na-clarify na namin yan. Na-discuss ko na yun eh. Siguro tapos na yung side ko. Ayoko na magsalita ng magsalita. Wala naman akong issue,” she stressed.

Toni admitted that because she had been so busy focusing all her energies on preparing for her concert, she found out about Mariel’s decision only after it had become public knowledge. “Hindi ko alam, basta nagulat na lang ako nung magco-concert na ako na nangyari lahat yan. In all honesty, kaya hindi ko siya mapagtuunan ng pansin noon kasi nga ang iniintindi ko magbenta ng tickets talaga, hindi ko mabigyan ng focus at saka ayoko rin naman mangialam sa kung ano man yung nangyari. Okay na yun, na kung ano man ang maging desisyon nila, suportahan na lang natin,” she said.

Despite their renewed closeness, Toni refused to elaborate on why Mariel ultimately chose to leave the show. “Hindi kasi ako makapagsalita. Siyempre definitely alam ko yung reason. Pero hindi ko alam na kasama pala ako sa reason. Nagulat ako. Pero alam ko talaga yung ibang reasons why she came up with that decision pero siguro she will hold her separate presscon for that. Mahirap siyempre na sa akin manggaling yun. kasi masyadong personal yung tungkol transition sa
