Vilma Santos will spend her birthday abroad before finishing her horror film with Kim Chiu

102611-vilma_main.jpgNow that she has finished her first shooting day for the upcoming horror film The Healing (workitlng title), Vilma Santos is getting ready to leave the country for a vacation along with her husband Senator Ralph Recto and youngest son Ryan Christian. The incumbent Batangas Governor admitted that she is really looking forward to the two-week trip which will coincide with her birthday and will also serve as the family’s mini-vacation before the year ends. “Siguro ito yung birthday ko na baka wala po muna ako dito kasi magbi-break muna kami for two weeks ng pamilya ko. We need a break eh, to unwind kasi pagod na rin kami sa trabaho. So tamang-tama si Ralph ay may recess and then sem break ng anak ko. But after nitong birthday ko, pagbalik ko I will definitely celebrate my birthday. But this time with the family muna kasi lahat kami nagtratrabaho. So I think very precious yung ise-celebrate namin yung birthday with the family. Yes this is out-of-the-country pero Asia lang kami,” she shared with Push.com.ph.

The veteran actress, who turns 58 this coming November 3, admitted that she had originally planned to spend her birthday in the United States but decided on a nearer location instead. “Two weeks lang naman ito. We planned to go to the States sana pero hindi natuloy kasi nga two weeks mapapagod lang. Hindi bale kung pag-uwi mo pahinga eh, pero pag-uwi mo trabaho uli so two weeks would be good na dito lang sa Asia na. But at least it’s also a place where we can say na we’re normal. Yung puwede kayo lumakad at kumain na hindi ka napapanuod. Kasi kailangan natin yung break na yun. Pero pagbalik I will definitely celebrate it with my friends,” she added.

Ate Vi also shared that she was hoping eldest son Luis would be able to join them on the trip but it all depends on his work schedule since he is also working on a new series that starts taping soon. “Pina-plano namin isama si Luis kasi dapat kasama siya. Pero pag nag-umpisa na yung Alta, yung kanyang teleserye, baka hindi siya makasama,” she said.

Ate Vi also chose to downplay the hype surrounding Nora Aunor’s recent admission that she used to harbor an admiration for her before. The Star for All Seasons said that things in the past are not really relevant to her anymore. “Well kung totoo yun then that’s good pero to talk about it now with the present status and situation, I mean not for anything ‘di ba pero graduate na tayo diyan. Those were the days na. Tama na naman. May kanya-kanya na kaming pamilya at iba-iba na ang buhay namin. Tama na, pag grumaduate ka na, look forward na to something more positive and yung mas may mapapakinabangan,” she explained

The veteran actress said she would rather comment on how lucky she and Ate Guy have been to still have the opportunity to be active in the entertainment industry after all these years. “My God apat na dekada na yata kami. The mere fact na we’re still here, we are blessed. So kung dun lamang, dapat na namain ipagpasalamat yan sa mga nagmamahal sa amin at yung mga Pilipino na hanggang ngayon ay nagmamahal at sumusuporta sa amin,” she said.

In her upcoming movie which deals with faith healers, Ate Vi said she plays a different kind of role. “Isa ako sa mga magdadala ng mga pasyente dahil naniniwala ako sa kanya. Parang ako ngayon ang magkaka-responsibilidad kung ano ang mga mangyayari sa mga ito. Horror daw talaga ito pero ayoko sana malaman nila basta it’s something different and something to look forward to kasi hindi pa yata nagagawa. Ipapakita dito yung kulturang pinoy na mahilig sa faith healer. At
