Melissa Ricks: 'Pag may nawala, may kapalit'

102611-melissa_main.jpgMelissa Ricks still considers 2011 a very good year even if she went through a very painful breakup early this year. “It’s been a good roller coaster ride for us,” she said briefly when she was told that she went through extreme emotions this year. While her current teleserye, Nasaan Ka Elisa? is still airing, Melissa will now be part of a very big soap opera, which will include Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Coco Martin, Julia Montes, Helen Gamboa, Susan Roces, and many more. The said teleserye will be titled Walang Hanggan and is slated to start airing early next year.

Sobrang exciting and overwhelming. At the same time kasi mga icons ang mga makakasama namin dito and to be part of this show is such a blessing and nagpapasalamat kami sa ABS-CBN dahil kami ang nakasama sa project na ito,” she beamed. “Sa dinami-dami ng artista ng ABS-CBN kami ‘yung napasama dito and we know that we’re going to learn a lot from the other cast (members) and seriously, working with Miss Dawn and Mr. Richard excited and sobrang kinakabahan [ako].”

Push.com.ph then asked Melissa if she believes in the famous belief in showbiz that when one is not fortunate in love life, his/her career will be fruitful. She replied, “As of now parang ganon na nga. I’m very blessed because this year has been really, really good for me and sunud-sunod ‘yung projects na binibigay sa akin [and] endorsements. Maraming mga in line for me and I’m very grateful. Siguro nga ganon ‘pag may nawala, may kapalit.

The actress continued that Nasaan Ka Elisa? will air until January next year. She added that if the two projects ever overlap, she hopes that viewers will not be confused by her two characters.  “I don’t think it’s going to overlap pero it’s two different characters and two different things. I don’t think mako-confuse ang mga tao.”
