Vilma Santos says that she still wants movie with Sharon Cuneta to push through

102311-vilma-main.jpgAfter an almost two-year hiatus, Vilma Santos is all set to be back on the big screen early next year as she starts shooting the upcoming Star Cinema horror flick with the working title, The Healing. The veteran actress shared with Push.com.ph why she chose a different kind of film for her next project. “Unang-una, dahil kay Chito Roño. Matagal na rin akong humihiling ng something different kay direk Chito. So sinabi ko, ‘Direk, parang tama na yung drama, parang I’m looking forward to doing something different naman.’ Actually china-challenge ko din yung sarili ko. So hindi ako magtataka na kaso Chito Roño film ito, alam naman natin kung gaano kagaling gumawa si Chito Roño. Plus Star Cinema pa, so how can you go wrong? So I’m looking forward na kahit na once a year or minsan magtu-two years na yata na hindi ako gumawa since In My Life, so siguro perfect ito para mabigay naman ako na iba naman sa mga manunuod natin na iba naman, total bihira’ naman nila ako makita ngayon sa pelikula. So I’m excited. Horror naman, iba di ba?” she shared.

The Star for all Seasons also admitted that she is excited to work with a fresh and talented cast. ”The fact na iba yung casting, marami po dito first time kong makakasama. Isa na siyempre si Kim Chiu, first time so maganda yung challenge, parang sa Anak ‘di ba? Nandidito rin si Janice de Belen, si Pokie andito rin so marami kaming importanteng makakasama dito na palagay ko exciting lalabas pag natapos yung pelikula,” she said.

Although initial stated reports that a movie with Sharon Cuneta would be her first project this year, Ate Vi said they are still in the process of finding the right script to work with. “Oo nga initially yun ang talagang plano, talagang with Sharon, kaya lang hindi pa nagtutugma yung sa storya at sa time namin pareho. So alam mo naman si Shawie busy rin. Ako ganun din. So hindi pa nagtutugma. Pagka ganun, hindi talaga dapat pinipilit kasi alam mo ang mga proyekto. There’s such a thing as right timing eh. Pagka-may mga obstacles na ganyan, huwag natin ituloy baka kasi hindi pa time yan. Pero definitely ang magandang balita is naka-reserba yan. At least meron ka pang tinatago dito na alam ko madaming nag-iintay. So looking forward ako someday to really ma-push through yung sa aming dalawa ni Shawie,” she admitted.

The 57-year-old actress admitted that she has no idea what kind of storyline fans can expect when they finally see the Megastar and her on the big screen. “Yun na nga ang hindi pa natatapos. Hindi pa namin ma-envision kung magkaibigan ba kami o magkapatid ba kami, so saan kami babagay dito. Yun pa yung pilit naming tinatapos ngayon. Pinag-aaralan at ginagawan ng script na babagay ba sa amin and definitely it will take time kasi hindi puwedeng basta-basta yung gagawin namin, sayang naman ‘di ba? So dapat it’s a good movie, bagay sa aming dalawa na alam naming magugustuhan ng mga manunuod. So it should be well-prepared also,” she shared.
