'My Binondo Girl' star Kim Chiu says she is happy for Gerald Anderson's new hit show 'Budoy.'
With the consistent high ratings of her primetime show My Binondo Girl
, Kim Chiu said she has gained a lot of more insight on the opposite sex ever since she started playing the dual roles of Yuan and Jade. “Iba-iba kasi yung uri ng mga lalake eh. May
vain, may pa-
cute, may mayabang,
so lahat yun ina
-adapt ko sa
. So ung in
-adapt ko dun kay
Yuan yung mayabang na pa
-cute,” she shared.
The 21-year-old actress admitted she is comfortable working with her three leading men Jolo Revilla, Xian Lim and Matteo Guidicelli mainly because she considers herself one of the boys. “Hindi talaga ako yung
girl na pa
-girl naman ako sa
physical look ko pero pag kasama ko na ang mga ibang tao, mas kumportable ako pag kasama ko na ang mga
boys kasi hindi ka na mag-aarte arte, ganyan ganyan. Sobrang kulit nila, nakakatawa,
and nagkakaintindihan kami
and enjoy kami na magkakasama kaming lahat,
” she added.
Now that she is on better terms with Gerald Anderson, Kim said they are now more comfortable being friends again, but there is definitely no truth to the reports that they are getting back together anytime soon. “Nyeh! Hindi nga kami nagkikita eh
(laughs). Nakita ko lang siya ulit sa ASAP
so yun. Ano ba yan, huwag na muna natin isipin yan. Ano ba?
(laughs) Hayaan na muna natin yun at saka
focus muna kami sa
project namin. Tsaka na lang natin isipin yang mga
love love na yan
(laughs),” she admitted.
Kim said she is proud of Gerald’s work in his new drama series Budoy.
“Kinongratulate ko siya nung nakita ko and maganda yung
reviews and siyempre si
Gerald, iba naman talaga siya pagdating sa
project niya, sobrang
dedicated kaya ayun kinongrats ko siya
in advance,” she shared.
Now that her former real-and-reel love team partner is headlining his own primetime series, Kim said she is more proud of him than threatened by their competing shows. “Hindi naman ganun, iba naman yung
Gerald at iba din naman yung tema ng
show ko. Sa kanya
more on advocacy-serye.
,” she explained.
Kim said she is also especially happy that her good friend Maja Salvador has also recently joined the cast of My Binondo Girl.
“Masaya ako. Kakaibang
experience namin ni
Maja kasi magiging magkatrabaho kami
roles namin sobrang magkakaiba, naninibago kami sa isa’t isa kapag naglilinyahan kami nagtatawanan kami,
,” she said.
Despite the show’s success, Kim said she is careful to stay grounded and is grateful to all her loyal fans and supporters. “Hindi naman kumportable isipin yung mga ganun pero nagpapasalamat lang ako dahil ang daming taong sumusuporta sa Binondo Girl. Mataas yung ratings namin
,” she said.
