Bong Revilla says son Jolo might be luckier than him in politics

Senator Bong Revilla Jr. was very proud that his son Jolo has shown great promise in his newfound political career. The 22-year old ran unopposed as barangay captain and then shortly became president of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) in Cavite last year. "Na-elect din siya recently as board member. Kumbaga nire-represent niya yung ABC presidents sa buong lalawigan. Sabi ko nga napakaswerte niya dahil one hundred percent support ang ibinibigay ng kababayan ko sa kanya," said Bong in a recent interview with Push.com.ph.

At the rate he'rsquo;s going, the action star/politician shared that he wouldn'rsquo;t be surprised if Jolo surpasses his own political efforts in the future. "Well bago pa lang din naman siya sa karera na ito pero sa tingin ko he'rsquo;s going to perform well. Seryoso yung bata, talagang gusto niya maging public servant. Makikita mo talaga may vision siya. Narinig ko nga magsalita one time, maluha-luha ako e. Basta parang giniba ang puso ko. I'rsquo;m so proud of my son and baka mas masuwerte pa siya sa akin pagdating sa pulitika,"

Although Jolo still asks for his advice regarding town concerns, Bong claimed that he believes in letting his son do what'rsquo;s best for his constituents with minimal supervision on his end. "Oh yes, nagko-consult siya sa akin. Alam mo napakabait na bata niyan so nakikita ko na siya rin sumusunod sa yapak ko. Ang advice ko lang sa kanya alam kong mabigat ang pinasok niya so panindigan niya 'lsquo;yan. Alagaan niya yung pangalan na sinumulan ng lolo niya at ngayon ay ipinagpapatuloy ko at sana ituloy din niya."

When asked if Jolo plans to give up his showbiz career for politics, Bong clarified that his son has decided to pursue both at this point in time. "Oo naman. Hindi naman niya kailangan iwan ang showbiz. Kaya naman niya. Maluwag naman ang schedule ni Jolo. Ang session nila once a week lang e. With the right time management and his dedication, alam kong hindi niya pababayaan yung obligasyon niya sa bayan at sa craft niya bilang artista."
