Enchong Dee and Erich Gonzales finally make their big screen debut as the leads in 'I Do.'
Last September 28, the red carpet premiere of Star Cinema'rsquo;s romantic comedy I Do was filled with diehard Enchong Dee and Erich Gonzales fanatics. As early as three hours before the actual showing, fans lined up outside the cinemas at SM Megamall, which was transformed into a virtual wedding aisle for the cast and other celebrity guests who came to show their support for Enchong and Erich'rsquo;s first solo film. Erich'rsquo;s celebrity barkada which included Melissa Ricks, KitKat and Beauty Gonzales all came to show support for their friend. "Nakakatuwa kasi nagbigay sila ng oras kahit na alam kong busy sila kaya thank you sa kanila," Erich said.
Enchong'rsquo;s fellow Bench endorser Zanjoe Marudo also came, much to the delight of the screaming fans. "Si Kuya Z, the best talaga yan, idol. Kasi talagang nag-spend time siya kahit super busy rin siya sa sched niya," Enchong added. Melason fanatics were also ecstatic to see Jason Francisco showing support for his girlfriend Melai Cantiveros'rsquo;s big screen debut as a comedienne. Other celebrity guests included Angel Aquino, Bianca Manalo, Vice Ganda, Chokoleit, Ogie Diaz, Jessy Mendiola, and David Chua.
I Do tells the story of two college coeds from totally different backgrounds. Yumi Punongbayan (Erich) comes from a typical middle-class Filipino family (Dennis Padilla and Pokwang play her very understanding and supportive parents) while Lance Tan (Enchong) is a college boy brought up in the traditional Chinese way. The young couple fall in love and choose to fight for their relationship despite the family'rsquo;s differences. The film revolves around the challenges they must face in order to finally make it down the aisle.
Enchong said he learned a lot from doing the film and has advice to those who find themselves in a similar situation. "May mari-realize kayo dito sa pelikula, lalo na yung mga balak magpakasal. Sana maintindihan niyo na madaming bagay sa paligid na kailangan talaga pag-isipan mabuti bago ang lahat." A visibly glowing Erich also had a message for their adoring fans. "Sana po talagasuportahan ninyo at panuorin ang I Do. I'rsquo;m sure mag-e-enjoy kayo sa movie na ito and we promise na makakalimutan ninyo mga problema ninyo. Ma-i-in-love po talaga kayo at matatawa. Promise po yan. Hindi po namin inaasahan lahat ito, yung mga friends namin, yung mga boss, and of course yung mga katrabaho namin, talagang sobrang pasasalamat namin talaga. Sana hindi sila magsawa," she said during the presscon after the movie screening.
