Aiza Seguerra admits that she is a fan of John Mayer's music.
Aiza Seguerra was present at the contract signing of Carol Banawa with Star Records last September 24, and it was at that event that she confirmed that she will be the front act of international singer-composer John Mayer for his Manila concert this October 1. Aiza told the press, "Actually, 'lsquo;yung first na dating pa lang niya dito dapat. Nakausap na din kami for that show, kaso na-cancel."
Aiza explained that she didn'rsquo;t want to say anything until everything had been formalized for her to be on stage with John Mayer. "I didn't want to say anything hangga't wala ako sa stage. Para siguradong, 'Uy, ako yung front act ni John Mayer.'rsquo;" Now that all is set for her and her band to perform at the said concert, Aiza shared they are all excited about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. "Naglabas na din naman sila ng mga collateral, and siyempre, excited na din kami, ako at ang buong banda."
Aiza admitted that she is a big fan of John Mayer, especially when the latter released the album Room for Squares in 2001 which contained the smash hits "Your Body is a Wonderland," "No Such Thing," and "A Love Song for No One." "'rsquo;Yung first album, very simple. Hindi pa siya naghe-heavy sa first album. Any [song] sa first album niya gusto ko."
But aside from preparing for the concert, Aiza will also begin work as producer of Carol Banawa'rsquo;s comeback album. The first and last time Aiza produced music was for Juris'rsquo;s single "'lsquo;Di Lang Ikaw." Aiza is inspired about producing an album for a remarkable singer like Carol. "Sobra akong excited kasi parang yung kalibre ni Carol... binigyan din ako ng chance na makasama siya. When we started corresponding through email, ang daming songs. Since napakaganda ng boses niya, ang dami niyang pwedeng kantahin."
The 27-year-old singer-musician shared that she and Carol have been friends for a long time. "Bata pa lang kami ni Carol, nagkakasama na kami. Matagal na 'yun, bata pa si Carol nun, tsaka ako. Kaya ever since naman, 'lsquo;yung paths namin nagko-cross."
