Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee say their team-up still has a lot to prove before it can be considered successful

Enchong Dee and Erich Gonzales feel grateful because fans continue to support their team-up even if they have no real-life romantic relationship. "I'rsquo;m really glad 'lsquo;yung basis nila (ABS-CBN) is not our personal life but our work," explained Enchong at the press launch of Real Leaf Green Tea. "Kumbaga hindi man kami together (in real life) tinitingnan nila kung ano ang mga magandang produkto na ginawa namin sa ABS-CBN." The onscreen couple also thanked the Kapamilya network, who has been giving them good projects for the past couple of years.

Although they feel twice the pressure with their launching film, I Do, opening in theaters this coming September 29, Erich and Enchong still consider themselves fortunate in terms of their careers. "Nandun lang 'lsquo;yan (pressure) parati, hindi yan nawawala but what is important is that 'lsquo;yung focus mo kung paano'hellip; 'lsquo;yung performance mo, paano mo aayusin," said Erich. "Sayang naman, not everyday may ganitong nangyayari."

Enchong added that despite the hard work and the pressure, seeing their movie's trailer makes everything worthwhile. "Nakikita na namin 'lsquo;yung produkto na pinaghirapan namin kaya kahit paano, nababawasan 'lsquo;yung kaba."

Erich and Enchong also downplayed claims that their love team is the next heir to the successful team-up of Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu. The two said that they still have a lot to prove. "Marami pa rin [kaming dapat matutunan]. Simula pa lang kami, wala pa kami sa kalingkingan," Erich reasoned.

Like the phenomenal team-up of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo, which enjoys success even if they aren'rsquo;t together off-screen, Erich explained that her partnership with Enchong is a success probably because of their care for each other beyond the screen. ''rsquo;Yung working relationship po 'lsquo;yung tiwala n'rsquo;yo sa isa'rsquo;t isa, 'lsquo;yung pagiging komportable n'rsquo;yo sa isa'rsquo;t isa, 'lsquo;yung pagiging open n'rsquo;yo sa isa'rsquo;t-isa. Kasi it helps lalo na sa mga eksena, like kami ni Enchong kahit hindi kami mag-usap alam na namin 'lsquo;yung gagawin. We know each other very well kahit na walang sabihin."
