Newlyweds Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez receive blessings from their family and friends

After Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez'rsquo;s surprising confirmation of their marriage on The World Tonight and Showbiz News Ngayon (SNN), their loved ones and close friends have started to extend their greetings and best wishes for them. In an exclusive interview with SNN, Robin'rsquo;s daughter Queenie said she was very happy when she saw her dad and Mariel confirm the news on TV. "Nanood ako ng SNN. I am very happy for them. Congratulations po. Kung saan masaya ang Papa ko, dun ako."

Queenie added that she doesn'rsquo;t feel bad if the two were reluctant at first to reveal that they really tied the knot last August 19 while vacationing in India. "Naintindihan ko sila. Ang tingin ko sa kanila parang 'lsquo;yung sa pag-ibig ng mga teenagers. 'lsquo;Di ba kapag na in love ka, when you'rsquo;re in the moment, ang mundo mo umiikot lang sa taong 'lsquo;yun. Hindi mo na napapansin 'lsquo;yung ibang tao sa paligid mo. Siguro talagang in love na in love sila sa isa'rsquo;t isa. I fully respect that."

The young actress further shared that she is definitely on good terms with her new stepmom. "Actually, a few days ago, nanood kami ng sine and we had dinner together. I got to know her a little bit better. Sana magkaroon pa kami ng bonding time para makilala ko pa siya." Queenie then gave her message for her father and Mariel. "Papa and Ate Mariel, congratulations. I'rsquo;m very happy for you. Sana the both of you will last forever. I wish you all the best in your relationship. Take care of each other. I love you guys."

Meanwhile, Mariel'rsquo;s grandparents, Rafael and Mae Sazon told SNN that after all the speculations, they now feel at peace knowing that their beloved granddaughter is happy.

Even though Robin and Mariel kept mum about the details of their marriage in India, Lolo Rafael maintained that the action star had been respectful towards him and Lola Mae. "Even before that, ibinigay ko na 'lsquo;yung blessing ko sa kanila. Ang nahalata ko lang, after (they came back from) India, tuwing magkikita kami ni Robin on several occasions, nagmamano siya sa akin. Hindi ko alam na grandson-in-law ko na pala siya."

Lola Mae also clarified why she broke down in her interview with Entertainment Live last September 18. If you recall, she was still in the dark about the status of Mariel'rsquo;s relationship with Robin at the time. "Umiiyak ako kasi masaya ako. It doesn'rsquo;t mean na umiiyak ako kasi may regret ako o nalulungkot ako. Masaya ako for Mariel." As proof that everything is fine, Lolo Rafael gave this message. "Robin you are very welcome to our very small family. We are happy for the two of you." Mariel'rsquo;s gr
