Boy Abunda talks about Mariel Rodriguez and Robin Padilla's surprise wedding

With Mariel Rodriguez now in the spotlight after her secret wedding to Robin Padilla was revealed, ABS-CBN.com asked Mariel's manager, Boy Abunda, about what he thought. Boy expressed that even though he is Mariel's manager, he does not expect her, as well as his other talents, to tell him everything that is happening in their lives, especially personal matters. "Ito nga ang ina-address ko: Is it bad not to know everything? I am not supposed to know everything about [my talents]. But that is a privilege that is given by an artist to a manager."

ABS-CBN.com asked Boy how he personally feels about the matter. Somehow you get used to these things. It is the industry. It is the nature of the industry."

He admits that he is not worried about Mariel'rsquo;s relationship with Robin as he trusts Mariel as a responsible woman and he knows that Mariel is sincerely happy. "Ang posisyon ko lamang from the very beginning I said this and I mean this from the bottom of my heart. Remember she is twenty-six. She is not sixteen, she is not fourteen. If that makes her happy'hellip;and she is happy. Siguro tayong mga nanonood marami tayong hindi nauunawaan, pero bottomline, masaya siya." 'nbsp;

Pribado in a sense for the lack of better word.

Meanwhile, Mariel is facing another problem as she recently appeared on a showbiz program on another network which is a direct competitor of her show, Entertainment Live. The program put the press conference where Mariel was at the time on live feed during the show. Boy admits that this might cause a problem with Mariel's contract and he already talked to Mariel about it. "Naka-live feed [yung press conference]. Ang explanation ni Mariel is that she is not aware of it, she was not aware that it was happening that way. Problema yan. Ang aming programa ay hindi kami pinapayagan na lumabas or mag-promote in any show or any channel that is directly competitive sa iyong show." Mariel apparently told Boy, "I was clueless, I was innocent of what was happening."

Boy admits that they will accept and adhere to ABS-CBN's decision regarding the issue.
