After two years in show business doing bit roles, Enrique Gil gets his biggest break yet as the newest addition to the dance group Gigger Boys, replacing Dino Imperial. Other members of the Gigger Boys include Enchong Dee, Robi Domingo, Sam Concepcion, Arron Villaflor, AJ Perez, and Chris Gutierrez.
“Unbelievable! Nagulat nga ako. My handler called me up and sabi niya, ‘Gigger Boy ka na,’” Enrique said excitedly. He is even prouder because the decision came from Johnny Manahan, Star Magic’s founder. Enrique previously appeared in the afternoon teleserye Pieta and the sitcom George and Cecil.
Enrique shared that he is really excited to be part of the Gigger Boys because he is very impressed with the group’s dancing skills which inspires him to be perform well. He admitted though that he has fears because he needs to prove that he is a worthy addition to the group. “I don’t want people to say, ‘He’s only an addition, tagapalit lang.’ ‘Yung fear, na ganon.” He shared that he was supposed to be part of the group when it was first launched, but it didn’t push through due to mixed reactions. But now that he is in the group, Enrique is hoping that group’s fans will be supportive to him this time.
Enrique is optimistic that he will easily blend with the group’s members since they also happen to be his friends. “I don’t know the feeling to be with the Gigger Boys kasi I haven’t danced with them. Siguro after one dance, I would get the feel na we’re a group na,” he said. Enrique will be officially introduced as part of Giggers Boy on ASAP XV next Sunday.
