Matteo Guidicelli says he is not courting Maja Salvador

After being seen together at the Star Magic ball last September, Matteo Guidicelli is now constantly being linked to his Inday sa Balitaw co-star Maja Salvador. But the 20-year-old Fil-Italian actor is quick to deny any romantic relationship between them now that they'rsquo;re also slated to work together again next year on the upcoming series Binondo. "Magkaibigan lang kami. kasama ko sila ni Kim (Chiu) on a new project. Yun lang. Hindi ako nanliligaw. Binigyan ko siya ng isang box ng Nagaraya bilang thank you lang sa pagiging mabait sa taping namin sa Inday sa Balitaw. Hindi naman ako nanliligaw sa kanya. Magkaibigan lang kami. We hang out sometimes with Kim because Kim is part of our group of friends also. I'rsquo;m with Maja, Kim, Jason (Abalos) and we'rsquo;re together lots of times," he said during the ABS-CBN Trade Launch event which was held last December 2 at the PICC.

Although he admits that Maja has qualities he would find attractive in a girl, Matteo said he would rather focus on his career at the moment. "I like Maja as a friend. But as a girlfriend? Well, hindi natin alam pero ngayon magkaibigan lang kami. We'rsquo;re happy to be friends. Yun lang. I like her as a friend. She'rsquo;s a beautiful person and mabait," he admitted. Matteo also said that even if he were interested, Maja is too busy right now to get into any relationship at the moment. "Alam mo, si Maja ngayon busing-busy sa trabaho niya, may movie siya. Shino-shoot niya yung movie. May teleserye pang bago kasama si Andi (Eigenmann) and si Coco (Martin). Tapos ako, bago pa ako sa industriya so gusto ko talaga mag-concentrate sa trabaho. If ever something happens between Maja and me, not now because for now I just want to be a good friend. I don'rsquo;t want to be more than friends right now. We'rsquo;re just friends. We just talk, hang out, yun. We never see more than that, yet. We'rsquo;ve never really spoken [with just] us two, there'rsquo;s always our friends. We'rsquo;re always with a group of people. Basta we'rsquo;re always with a bunch of people so we never get to talk na kami lang," he added.

But that doesn'rsquo;t mean Matteo is closing his doors on the possibility of them developing feelings for each other. "If there'rsquo;s a chance in the future 'lsquo;pag okay na yung career ko, ganun-ganun. Kung masaya na ako, puwede. Pero as of now gusto ko friends lang," he said. Matteo shared that he is also looking forward to spending Christmas in Cebu with his family. "My schedule is full but I got three days to spend time with my family. My mom, dad, sister, brother, and my grandparents. So babalik ako sa hometown ko," he said. Matteo has also been busy training to become a triathlete with his father and he hopes to compete in the Ironman triathlon in Camsur next year.
