Bianca Manalo feels overwhelmed by the success of Juanita Banana

Lead star and beauty queen Bianca Manalo admits to feeling overwhelmed at the response the show has gotten. 'Masayang-masaya ako kasi hindi ko akalain na mataas pala yung ratings nung show namin. First week pa lang, ang taas-taas na, tinanggap na kagad. Sobrang happy lang talaga ako and sana magtuloy-tuloy yung pagpapayagpag nung ratings namin at commercial load para mas masaya na rin ang lahat,' she said during the Juanita Banana thanksgiving lunch held last November 8 at the ABS-CBN compound. After her acting debut on Magkaribal, Bianca admits she feels both blessed and challenged to star in her very own show. 'Siyempre nung umpisa feeling ko parang pressured ako dahil nga ako yung magdadala nung show and kabago-bago ko pero tinulungan naman ako nung mga taong nakapaligid sa akin,' she says. Bianca admits that she is thankful for the encouragement she got from her Magkaribal co-stars Bea Alonzo and Enchong Dee. 'Talagang nag-boost sila sa akin na talagang kaya mo yan. Sobrang happy sila for me na nagkaroon ako ng big break. So nung at first na kinakabahan ako na magte-take na ako ng Juanita, sabi nila, 'lsquo;Ano ka ba, kaya mo yan! Relax ka lang, kaya mo yan.'rsquo; So ito na nga yun, yung mga pinaghirapan ko, yung kinakaba-kaba ko, tinanggap ng lahat. Napakasaya ko talaga,' she shared. Bianca admitted that after her reign as Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2009, she was already excited to get into showbiz. 'Sobrang saya talaga kasi parang gusto ko talaga ito. Kumbaga pagka-join ko ng Binibini, pagkatapos ng reign ko, magjo-join talaga ako,' she says. The 23-year-old commercial model also said that she does not want to be typecast as just a beauty queen. 'Sobrang happy kasi binigyan ako ng lead role tapos kakaiba siya. Ayoko kasi yung natatatak na parang, 'lsquo;Ay beauty queen yan.'rsquo; Gusto ko ako yung beauty queen pero kalog. Sasabihin nila na beauty queen siya pero nakakatawa, tapos puwedeng serious din, kontrabida.
