President Noynoy Aquino commends ABS-CBN for its commitment to change through the years

During the dedication of the Eugenio Lopez Communication Center and the launch of ABS-CBN'rsquo;s Christmas theme, guest of honor President Noynoy Aquino was all praises for the network'rsquo;s efforts in transforming the lives of many Filipinos and encouraging them to play an active role in nation-building. He stressed the importance of respect for one another, constant dialogues, and vigilance towards various national issues as the key in solving the problems of the country.

Aquino also recognized the "astounding work" of his appointed Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission Chair Gina Lopez for the record-breaking run for a cause that she spearheaded recently. "As a directly affected resident, I have seen how her leadership has had a direct impact on many lives. We have [to make sure that] the impossible dream becomes a reality." With that successful event as an example, he saw the need to strengthen corporate responsibility programs where "government efforts can be supplemented in order to fill the gaps especially in hard-to-reach areas."

Aside from the fact that his sister Kris Aquino and his beloved niece Bimby are considered certified Kapamilya stars, he pointed out that ABS-CBN has always been the home of his family since the Aquinos and the Lopezes share a historical contribution in the country.

At the end of his speech, he also challenged everyone to be catalysts of change by serving others before oneself.
