After a seven-year hiatus, Carol Banawa is back in the country with a comeback album from Star Records, entitled My Music, My Life. "Ako yung nag-suggest na gumawa ng album. Na-miss ko kasi talaga yung kumanta. Since nag-visit rin naman ako sa family ko dito, the idea of making an album ulit popped into my head," she said during her press conference last November 23 at the ABS-CBN compound.

The album concept is to highlight some of the most precious moments in Carol'rsquo;s life. It is composed of ten tracks which she personally chose. "For the past seven years na wala ako, ito yung mga kanta na nakaka-relate sa mga nangyari sa akin. Ako yung pumili ng mga kanta, katulong ko ang Star Records sa pag-finalize pero ako yung talagang nag-isip ng mga kanta na okay. Kaya sa album makikita niyo may kuwento kung bakit yun ang napili ko. Merong 10 songs plus one original song. All of them are revivals," she said.

One of the album highlights includes the bonus track, "When I Fall in Love," which features Piolo Pascual. Carol says it was also her personal choice to have Piolo be part of her album since their friendship goes way back. "Ako pumili kay Piolo kasi kaibigan ko na talaga si Piolo even before, lalo na ASAP days so siyempre 'lsquo;pag bumalik ako, siya talaga yung gusto ko. Lalo na since he'rsquo;s also with Star Records so talagang okay, walang problema. And in the concert that I did when I was here 2003, nag-duet kami sa Music Museum so that'rsquo;s why I thought of him," she shared.

For Carol, all the songs in her album are special to her, which is why she cannot choose a favorite. "Yung yung mahirap'nbsp; kasi yung buong album, it all has meaning to me kung bakit andudun yung kanta so mahirap sabihin na isang kanta lang yung nag-re-represent sa kung nasaan ako ngayon. Lahat yun represents yung iba'rsquo;t ibang aspects sa buhay ko," she said. Carol said music lovers will get to understand more of her experiences once they listen to the songs and the explanation she has for choosing each song. "The whole album is me now, it'rsquo;s not forever yun lang. it can still grow, puwede pang magbago hopefully in a more positive way and kumbaga, mas mag-grow pa ng magandang paraan, she said.

The album My Music, My Life, features hit songs like the cover of Taylor Swift'rsquo;s "Love Story," which Carol admits is her daughter'rsquo;s favorite singer. "Kaya ko kinanta ito kasi favorite talaga ni Chelsea si Taylor Swift kasi mahilig rin kasi siya kumanta. Kaya nung narinig niya, sabi niya, 'lsquo;Mom, its Taylor Swift!'rsquo; pero boses ko daw. Tuwang-tuwa siya tapos at the same time, yung buong story sa song, naalala ko rin yung kilig-kilig moments naming mag-asawa kasi parang sa song nag-si-sneaking around silang dalawa dun, trying to get a moment for each other, parang ganun.
