Carol Banawa clears up rumors about her marriage.
After extending her visit to the Philippines until after the holidays, there is speculation that US-based singer Carol Banawa is now separated from her husband Ryan Crisostomo, a military man who is stationed in Fairfax County, Virginia. The couple have a three-year-old daughter named Chelsea, whom Carol brought along. During the presscon for her new album form Star Records entitled, My Music, My Life, last November 23 at the ABS-CBN compound, Carol dismissed the rumor right away. "Ay hindi. We'rsquo;re not separated. Physically lang siguro ngayon. Andudun siya sa States. Siya nga yung nagsuggest na I spend the holidays here kasi si Papa ngayon ko lang nakasama ulit ng Christmas and New Year," she clarified. The singer also shared how she and her husband met. "I met Ryan in California nung nag-show ako dun before. He has mixed blood. Medyo may halo silang Spanish and Greek. Filipino yung parents tapos yung grandma niya yung may lahi," she said.
Carol divulged that the original reason why she flew back was to attend to her ailing dad. "Kasi nagkaroon ng condition yung papa ko. Hindi namin naayos before yung papers niya. He'rsquo;s fighting. It'rsquo;s been 11 years and go pa rin ng go. But at this point, puwede na naming sila i-petition ng sister ko pero ina-ano lang naming is kung kaya ng condition niya to travel. Sabi naman ng doctor niya, kasi malimit na siyang nag-si-seizure ngayon eh, so sabi ng doctor puwede namang control-in yun pero ang problema naman namin ngayon is kung may airline na papayag na ilipad siya so yun naman ang aayusin namin," she said.
After graduating from a nursing course last July, Carol said she is glad to get the chance to focus on other things aside from her studies and is thankful that the reception to her comeback has been positive. "Okay na okay naman. Nakakataba naman ng puso kasi tanggap pa rin ako ng mga tao. Marami pa ring natutuwa na bumalik ako. Nakakaloka lang kasi Ate at po sila ng po sa akin (laughs). Parang nakakahiya, parang weird lang (laughs)," she said.
Carol said that she is content with the life she has established abroad even though she misses the Philippines. "Hindi naman sa ayaw ko na dito pero kumbaga nandun na yung life namin. Dun kami nagsimula, and parang everything is there already. Lalo na since yung work ng asawa ko is in the military," she explained. Although she would'rsquo;ve wanted her family to be complete for Christmas, Carol said it will be hard for Ryan to abruptly file for a leave. She says she feels lucky her husband is so understanding. "I needed time to promote the album, alangan namang madaliin namin yun. So alam naman ng asawa ko yun eh, sabi pa niya 'lsquo;Alam ko mag-e-extend ka for sure,'rsquo; sabi ko hindi. T
