Boy Abunda got a weeklong birthday celebration on Showbiz News Ngayon where he received a recorded birthday greeting from one of his talents, Mariel Rodriguez, who is currently in India shooting a movie with her husband Robin Padilla. In an interview with Push.com.ph at the Boy Abunda Badminton Cup, Boy shared that he still continues to receive text messages from Mariel. "The last text message I got from her was a week ago. She sends very happy messages."

Prior to going to India, Mariel was under the fire because various controversies. As her manager, Boy felt sad for Mariel but he understands that intrigues come with the job. "Bahagi 'lsquo;yan ng trabaho. It'rsquo;s a roller coaster ride. I think it'rsquo;s on how you rise above the controversies that measures you as a person and as a celebrity.

Regarding the rift between former good friends Mariel and Toni Gonzaga, Boy said his working relationship with Toni as co-hosts on The Buzz remains unaffected by the issue. I appreciate it."

While Boy continues to wish that Mariel and Toni would finally make peace, he also respects that each of them needs time until they are totally ready to talk. I think bilang kaibigan ni Toni at manager ni Mariel, my wish for them is to give each other time. Pakiramdaman nila kung kakayanin na. Kung hindi let it be."

Boy also reacted to the recent revelation of another of Mariel'rsquo;s former close friends, Luis Manzano, who is harboring a "tampo" with the TV host-actress. "He has every right to feel what he feels.

As a manager, Boy explained that he is not the type who is privy to his talents'rsquo; personal affairs. He only waits for them to approach him and open up. With all humility I can say na I don'rsquo;t know everything especially sa mga personal n
