'Pilipinas Win na Win' host Rico J. Puno says that there will be no 'personalan' between Joey De Leon and himself.
Rico J. Puno is proud of the Hitmakers'rsquo; (Marco Sison, Nonoy Zuniga, and Rey Valera) collective effort for the high ratings of Pilipinas Win na Win now. He admits that at first they were clueless if they would be able to meet the expectations of ABS-CBN Management and most especially, the audience. "Pagod pero nakakatuwa kasi yung goal at yung purpose naa-achieve namin. Kasi yung task na naibigay sa amin very, very hard, we needed to prove something, pero ang maganda doon we were successful na maitaas ang ratings. The next step is how to maintain it."
Working on noontime shows is not new to him as he had already hosted some in the past. But Pilipinas Win na Win is a bigger challenge.
According to Rico, Pilipinas Win na Win is not just a variety show, it is a venue where Filipinos can express their plights and listen to what others have to say at the same time. As Hitmakers, they'rsquo;ve channeled the Kapamilya spirit through music.
At this point, Rico and his co-hosts are still savoring their success. "Sa totoo lang hindi naman namin gusto or minamadali na lagpasan yung kabila, we are just trying to offer what we can. Since nakuha na namin yung [attention] ng mga matatanda, we try to guest young stars din para sa mga batang viewers."
While Wowowee faced controversies with Willie Revillame'rsquo;s rifts with Joey De Leon in the past, Rico is confident that they will not be having the same issues as he and Joey have been good friends for several years now. Joey used to be my gag writer noong araw, mga kaibigan ko sila. I don'rsquo;t think there will be'hellip; There will just be a healthy competition pagdating sa ganito pero sa tingin ko pagdating sa personalan we don'rsquo;t have time for that. Kung sila naman magkakaroon ng ganoon, I will not challenge them."
