Arron Villafor feels blessed to star in Pampangueno film 'Astro Mayabang'

Star Magic talent Arron Villaflor makes his independent film debut via the 6th Cinema One Original Film Festival entry Astro Mayabang. In this comedy directed by Jason Paul Laxamana which is set in a town of Pampanga, Arron plays the role of a patriotic Kapampangan who boasts of Pinoy pride in almost every aspect of his life. “I’m happy to be part of Cinema One and I feel lucky na ipinagkatiwala sa akin ang pelikulang ito, sa dinami-dami ng ibang puwede nila makuha, ako ang napili,” he admits. Arron admits that working with a younger director and an indie film was a very fulfilling experience.

Astro Mayabang also marks his first time to do a kissing scene with onscreen partner Megan Young, as well as scenes shot with him wearing nothing but his underwear. “First time ko gumawa ng daring so medyo nakaka-pressure. May kissing scene na so ibang-iba yung experience ko sa project na ito,” he says. Arron also enjoyed working with his co-Star Magic talent Megan because they are friends off-screen as well. “Masaya katrabaho si Megan. Naging madali yung daring scenes dahil sa kanya. Siyempre nakakakaba pa rin pero as a gentleman, tinanong ko muna siya kung comfortable siya. Respect ko na rin yun to my co-artist to ask that ‘pag may scene na maseselan. Naging mas open siya sa akin,” he says.

Although he grew up in Tarlac, Arron speaks Kapampangan, another advantage that he had in auditioning for the role. The movie, which was shot in Angeles City, has dialogue both in Tagalog and Kapampangan. “Naghanda ako for this by concentrating sa script reading kasi first indie film ko ito.
