While he gave up Showtime for Mara Clara, Jhong Hilario says he wants tp gp back to the talent search show.
Jhong Hilario confirmed that he left the talent show Showtime for the upcoming teleserye, Mara Clara, where he will play the main antagonist, Gary David. "Talagang nag-voluntary exit na ako sa Showtime kasi sabi ko medyo marami na akong napasayang tao for being there for almost eight months na parang siguro kailangan ko ring balikan 'lsquo;yung acting career ko. Para hindi rin mawala o para hindi rin ako makalimutan ng tao, at the same time, maganda 'lsquo;yung role na binigay sa akin."
The former Streetboys member related how ecstatic he was when he was informed that he was included in the remake. The original role, Gary David, was played by Eruel Tongco.
Jhong related that Showtime friends, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, and Vice Ganda, were all shocked when he told them that he would leave the show.
He said that he really felt sad that he had to give up Showtime but he knew that the teleserye will suffer if he remained a Showtime judge. Besides, he believes that giving up the entertainment show for the acting project is worth it since it is a remake of a phenomenal TV program.
Still, Jhong is hoping that he could return to the morning talent-search show when he finally gets a manageable schedule in taping Mara Clara.
