1999 Miss Universe first runner-up Miriam Quiambao shares it is spirituality that is filling in her emotional void and not men.
Aside from showbiz, Miriam Quiambao said that her real estate ventures are what keeps her busy nowadays, while her love life is taking the back-seat. "I'rsquo;m single and happy and ready to mingle," she said, followed by a laugh. At the Forever Olay event in Manila Peninsula in Makati City held last October 13, a reporter asked the TV personality if she is dating anyone, to which she replied, "Wala. Si God lang. Actually there are men around pero I'rsquo;m keeping them as friends."
Miriam said that she is currently enjoying the joys of singlehood. "Ever since was I 16 years old, I'rsquo;ve always had a boyfriend and ang difference lang from one guy to another is two months," she related. "It'rsquo;s just only now that I am enjoying being single. I'rsquo;m actually enjoying my relationship with God because I just turned Born Again." She went on to say that it feels better that her spirituality is filling in her emotional void and not by men anymore. "I have no need of another guy'hellip; if only just to fill that emotional void." However she clarified that she is open to a possible relationship with the "right" guy when she is ready to commit again. But for now, her personal life is consisted of family, friends and church.
The former beauty queen did not deny that she still misses the companionship in a relationship but is resolved to commit only for the right reasons. "Pinagpi-pray ko kasi kay God, Lord kung hindi ito, huwag na lang. Gusto ko kung binigay talaga Niya, alam ko 'lsquo;yun ang perfect [guy] for me. 'lsquo;Yun 'lsquo;yung the one that will last a lifetime. Kaya ngayon I'rsquo;m just making friends."
As for acting projects, Miriam said that she has an upcoming mini-TV series on another TV network and shared how much she enjoyed being a hurado on Showtime for three weeks just recently. "Unti-unti naman tayong nakikilala sa showbiz kaya last year, nabigyan tayo ng nomination (for Best Supporting Actress, Gawad Urian) sa Kimmy Dora in 2008. Also, we were awarded best host by Aliw Awards and these are well-respected awards-giving body and natuwa naman ako meron silang nakita." She continued that she is intent on doing her best in her career because she knows that she has a lot more to learn in the industry. "Pero happy lang ako kung ano ang naabot ko ngayon. I'rsquo;m taking one project at a time."
And as for taking good care of herself to remain youthful, Miriam shared, "Pagdating sa commitment to health, taking care of my health, the cellular health [kasi] kung healthy tayo sa loob, nagra-radiate. I'rsquo;m really commitment to health and taking care of my skin that I live a healthy lifestyle, and exercising. I believe that I will also be one of those women that you can call who age gracefully."
