Kris Aquino talks about rekindling her friendship with Dr. Vicki Belo and becoming one of her celebrity endorsers again.
When Kris Aquino was officially launched as endorser for Belo Medical Group'rsquo;s latest slimming process last September 29, the first thing that came to most people'rsquo;s minds was how she and Dr. Vicki Belo were able to patch things up between them. The two had a falling-out three years ago when Kris'rsquo;s husband James Yap allegedly got involved with Hope Centeno, a receptionist in one of the Belo clinics. But Kris was quick to say that there'rsquo;s no reason for her to be angry with Vicki in to begin with. "Wala naman siyang kasalanan sa akin. Hindi naman niya inakit ang asawa ko. So wala naman siyang kailangang i-sorry sa akin. In fact, ako nga yung nagpaiyak ng nagpaiyak sa kanya kasi, 'lsquo;di ba naalala ko mga interview niya nung nag-sign ako sa iba. Yung iniyak niya dun parang worse nung nakipaghiwalay ako. So parang, we were all ready."
Kris agreed to be an endorser of the well-known cosmetic and surgical center since last May, but they kept it under wraps so that it wouldn'rsquo;t interfere with her activities for the elections. More than anything else, however, it was the perfect opportunity for her to rekindle her friendship with Vicki. "Honestly, nung nagne-negotiate kasi si Jojie Dingcong (consultant of Belo) with Boy (Abunda), I knew that my marriage was ending. So I knew that I could do it. Wala akong iniilagan, wala akong naihihirapan pag-usapan. I was able to sign with her again because I knew that was behind me. But I think a lot of things have changed [in terms of their friendship] kasi I'rsquo;m more appreciative of who doktora is and I'rsquo;m a lot less judgmental. And also, I think I love the fact that she's a survivor because I see a lot of myself in her," she explained.
Another issue was the fact that Vicki and Boy are not on good terms because of a previous disagreement involving a rival beauty clinic wherein the latter is an image model. When asked if the two have settled their differences as well, Kris honestly replied, "No, I don'rsquo;t think they'rsquo;re like buddy-buddy because Boy is very loyal to what he's endorsing and I admire him for that 'lsquo;di ba? But it'rsquo;s not like their enemies also. I guess Boy is first to acknowledge that as far as media presence is concerned, walang pwedeng tumapat kay Dra. Vicki, so gustong-gusto niya yun. Gandang-ganda siya dun sa pictorial ko and 'lsquo;pag napapanood niya yung commercial, sinasabi niya sa akin, 'lsquo; In fairness, maganda talaga kutis mo ngayon.'rsquo; So very very fair siya."
