KC Concepcion talks about her plans after 'Lovers In Paris'

During the press con of Lovers In Paris last December 4, a representative of Star Cinema confirmed that KC Concepcion and Piolo Pascual will be doing a movie together sometime next year, but will be pursuing individual projects first. KC agreed that a lot of exciting things are in store for her in 2010, but as to whom her next leading man will be remains to be seen. “We know there's usually a formula na after ng isang soap kasunod nun movie naman. But maybe it’ll be more exciting if we move things around. There are projects that don’t need to happen just because it's a formula. And if it’s a success, that’s for us to find out,” she began.

Nevertheless, KC claimed that she’s already looking forward to doing a movie with Piolo as early as now. “Of course I’d love to work with PJ. I mean who wouldn’t take the opportunity to do a project over and over again with Piolo? There are things that Star Cinema has promised na mangyayari for next year so hopefully that all pushes through. Sana magkatugma yung schedule at iba’t ibang plano ng taong nakapaligid sa amin,” she said laughing. “Yun po siguro yung challenge dun,” she replied when asked what’s next for her and Piolo after Lovers In Paris.

The young actress got a bit emotional when she shared how she feels that the said soap is drawing to a close.  “I’m probably the most attached to the cast and to the project siguro, in the sense that this is my first soap and this is the first time Piolo and I have worked together. And it's really an honor especially because so many people want to work with him. Same goes with Zanjoe (Marudo) and Direk Erick (FM Reyes) because I know a lot of actresses really appreciate working with them.”

Even though Direk FM kept teasing her about her closeness with Piolo that day, she did not forget to give him credit for being patient with her as she learned the ropes of the making of a Philippine soap. “My experience sa Lovers in Paris goes beyond showbiz. I was expecting the worst to be honest sa teleserye work. It was hard and challenging, but at the end of the day we all had cheerful hearts. Na kahit ang dami naming ginagawang trabaho tapos dumating pa yung Ondoy… Everyday walang major na malungkot na pangyayari sa set. If anything, we’re going to take away good friendships and better understanding of our craft,” she related.

KC has become more determined to carve out a niche in showbiz now that she has come to appreciate the joys as well as the challenges that come with being a certified dramatic actress. “I came home [from Paris] wanting to get more experience sa TV work at sa pelikula. And doing Lovers in Paris convinced me na ‘wag na munang bumalik sa Europe at manatili muna dito habang may maganda akong projects sa ABS-CBN. And for that I thank ABS-CBN for taking good care of me kahit hindi ako Star Magic artist,” she beamed.
