Mylene Dizon talks about her reunion with Bojo Molina and how much Judy Ann Santos has changed over the years.
Aside from her much-awaited role in Tanging Yaman, Mylene Dizon told ABS-CBN.com that she can’t wait for Kapamilya viewers to see her reunite with Judy Ann Santos, G Toengi, Diether Ocampo, and her former ka-love team Bojo Molina via Gimik 2010. Production has already started on the sequel to the ‘90s teen-oriented show which is set to air in January. “We didn’t realize that it has been 13 years. Parang wala namang pagbabago. Most of them I still see and even work with so hindi ko napansin yung bilis ng panahon. Actually it was G who organized [a get-together] prior the show. Although she works already in the States, I’m really glad that she made time for this kasi mahirap talagang makumpleto ang barkada lalo na kung may kanya-kanya na kayong pamilya,’” she began.
When asked how she reacted the first time she saw Bojo on the set again, Mylene was quick to say that she doesn’t look a day older compared to him. “Si Bojo matanda na. Hahaha! But on a serious note, she admitted that she realized how much she missed their tandem now that they are working with each other again. “It’s really a reunion in the true sense of the word, especially Bojo whom I was very, very close to back during the heydays of Gimik and then suddenly he disappeared. So naisip ko, ‘Oh my God. This is the person I was teamed up with, whom I loved so much and cared for.’ Itong pagkakataon na ito, siguro sinabi na rin ng tadhana na after ilang taon e dapat magkita-kita na kami,” she exclaimed.
Even some of the staff from the original Gimik show came to visit them on the set just to catch up. And now that they’re all grown-up, they couldn’t help but compliment Judy Ann for having transformed into the ultimate It girl in showbiz—something a lot of people wouldn’t believe of her during her younger years. Kaya naman naloloko ang asawa niya sa kanya,” she added with a laugh.
At the end of the interview, Mylene shared that the cast of Gimik 2010 includes a whole new set of faces in the biz that will surely spice up the plot of the show. You’d think that an award-winning actress like her wouldn’t be patient when it comes to doing scenes with newbies but Mylene revealed that it’s even an honor to pass on what she learned in acting to the new generation of young stars. Naintindihan ko yung pinagdadaanan nila kasi we went through the same thing before.
