Kris Aquino backs out from 'Pilipinas Got Talent'

Kris Aquino is so busy taping for her soap Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo that she has even broadcasting on location for her show Showbiz News Ngayon (SNN). This was one of the reasons why she has backed out of becoming a judge on Pilipinas Got Talent. “I made some important decisions this week. Kasi I was slated to be a part of Pilipinas Got Talent which would have entailed so much travel. It was this week that I backed out kasi our taping for the teleserye is M-W-F. Uwi ako 4 or 5 in the morning from the soap. Tapos Tuesday and Thursday morning ‘di [na] ako mapakinabangan [sa sobrang pagod],” she revealed in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN reporters right after the launch of K Everyday: The Kris Aquino Home Collection at SM Makati last Sunday, December 13.

Aside from her health concerns, the Queen of Talk also promised her husband James Yap that she’d spend as much time with her kids as possible despite her countless work commitments. Even if James is not complaining, I also felt [like reducing my workload kasi] sabi niya two weeks into taping the soap, ‘Gaano katagal nga ‘yan?’”

Kris further explained that there are other people better suited to be judges. “So sabi ko kay Tita Cory (Vidanes), ‘I’m sorry, it’s a decision for my kids and for my health. I’ll let this go even though super nami-miss ko yung mga katrabaho ko. Kasi from Game KNB? all the way to Kapamilya Deal or No Deal sila. But I think I have to make a choice na huwag maging swapang about work at the expense of my family…Ayoko naman ma-feel na walang kwenta akong nanay. Mas okay na i-give up ko yung ibang trabaho. Hindi naman kami magugutom kung i-give up ko yung trabahong yun,” she added.  Rumor has it though that the management is eyeing Sharon Cuneta to take over her slot on Pilipinas Got Talent.

Kris did a cameo in Mano Po 6: My Mother out of gratitude to the Megastar and to producer Mother Lily Monteverde. The role in question is just a small one.

But she was quick to clarify that it was a decision that she totally agreed with. It’s Sharon's movie and I did that for Sharon so dapat dedma na ako sa kung ano man yung [sabihin tungkol dun kasi] better na wala naman [yung name ko dun],” she reiterated.
