Vic Sotto is all praises for Cristine Reyes's hard work while shooting their movie 'Ang Darling Kong Aswang.'
During the presscon of the movie Ang Darling Kong Aswang, Vic Sotto expressed his high regard for leading lady Cristine Reyes. Though this was the first time they worked together, he didn’t have a hard time adjusting to their tandem because she readily faced the challenges of doing a comedy-horror film. “She's fun [to be with]. Tawa lang ng tawa. Walang angal kahit na ibitin mo siyang patiwarik. Labas na nga ugat sa noo ok pa rin siya e. I remember one time nakaharness siya and all. Kinukunan namin siya sa chroma. Hindi namin alam meron palang lagnat,” he began.
Apparently Cristine didn’t want to be the cause of delay but Vic insisted that she go home instead of continuing the shoot. “So makikita mo yung dedikasyon niya sa kanyang trabaho. Magkaganonman, tinawag ko pa rin si Direk sabi ko, ’Yung artista mo may sakit.’ Dali-dali pinauwi na namin siya agad. Sabi ko magpahinga na siya. Tsaka kahit nung bagyong Ondoy, alam naman natin na very traumatic yung pinagdaanan niya nun. Pero two days after that balik taping siya agad, parang walang nangyari. Kaya naman ako ay hanga sa kanya. Saludo ako kay Cristine sa pagkaprofessional,” he stressed.
When asked if they have a kissing scene in the movie, Vic shared that they have a few but it’s not something that made them feel awkward. “Meron, kailangan e. Pero it’s more of a comic situation kasi nga aswang [si Cristine dito]. Yung tipong magkikiss kayo lumalabas yung pangil niya kasi aswang siya. ‘Teka darling parang matalas ata yung ngipin mo ngayon,’ parang ganon. And hindi naman kami strangers talaga sa isa’t isa no. Kahit first shooting day namin walang ilangan. Okay siya e. Hindi siya maarte. Seryoso siya sa kanyang ginagawa. Kaya sabi ko nga mapacomedy, drama, or horror, she has it,” he reiterated.
Ang Darling Kong Aswang is the story about a man who unknowingly falls in love with an aswang (a mythical creature in Filipino folklore) who has not yet fully succumbed to its dark side. Though it’s a lot similar to the plot of the Twilight series, the 55-year old actor/producer claimed that theirs was already in the works for more than six years already. “Before Lastikman pa lang naconceptualize na namin ito. Pero at that time hindi pa namin kaya yung special effects na ganon kalinis. Ayoko namang gawin kung ‘di ko kayang gampanan as a producer. So nashelve yung project. Nung ready na kami technically, tinuloy na namin,” he explained.
Vic also assured that moviegoers will get their money’s worth with the hilarious antics that they have in store for them. Joining the cast are other Kapamilya stars such as Agot Isidro, Empress Schuck, Rafael Rosell, Denise Laurel, Gian Sotto and Mika dela Cruz. Other members of the cast include Jean Garcia, Dante Rivero, Wally Bayola, Richie D’ Horsie, and Barbie Forteza with the special participation of Joey de Leon, Pia Guanio, and Oyo Sotto among others. Ang Darling Kong Aswang will be showing in theaters on December 25.
