Julia Barretto remains optimistic about the Barretto family feud

Julia Barretto refused to take sides in the family feud between the Barretto siblings (her aunt Gretchen and her mom Marjorie versus her aunt Claudine), which has yet to be resolved. Amongst the many issues that were brought up was Claudine's alleged intent to ruin Julia's career. But the 16-year-old stayed clear of the whole controversy that's meant for her elders only.

"Regarding that, hindi pa sila nakakausap about it na parang, 'Julia ikaw ang reason.' Wala namang ganon. I want everything to be okay and calm muna between the magkakapatid before I [speak]. Hindi ko yun problema. It's not for me to fix and talk about. Sa kanila na yun. Ang saya saya ko," said Julia who was launched last Friday, May 24, as the star of the upcoming teleserye Confradia.

Although she seems closer now to her Tita Gretchen, Julia acknowledged that she has a lot of happy childhood memories with her Tita Claudine as well. "We used to be with her everyday, house everyday, grocery everyday. Yun talaga yung pinakamasaya with her, yung mga bonding. Super close talaga."

When asked who's more generous between Gretchen and Claudine, the young actress wisely replied, "Honestly pareho silang generous. It's unbelievable. Very sharing sila sa blessings."

She and her Tita Claudine may not have kept in touch lately, but that doesn't mean that the bond between them is gone. "Hindi naman siya nawala. The thing about my family, kahit gaano katagal kayong hindi nagkita, 'pag nagkita kayo parang hindi matagal, close pa rin kami. Pareho pa rin ginagawa namin. I'm not going to say na nawala [yung closeness with Tita Claudine]."

On a lighter note, Julia admitted that she got the best traits from her mom Marjorie and aunts Gretchen and Claudine. "Sa Tita Claudine [I believe nakuha ko], yung passion niya for acting kasi sobrang mahal niya ang pagarte. Sa Tita Gretchen ko, pareho din. Pero siguro yung fashion side tsaka yung palaging pagiging masayahin. Sa work, kapag pumupunta ako, kahit late na, ang saya niya pa rin. Ganon ako, energetic. Sa mom ko, all in all, the way I think, the way I handle things. The same kami [na strong personality]."

Jovit Baldovino says he is not threatened by new upcoming singers

Even after three years in the industry, Pilipinas Got Talent season 1 winner Jovit Baldovino still can't believe he is a much-loved Kapamilya. The 19-year old singer will be performing for Star Magic's 21st anniversary celebration on May 26, Sunday on ASAP along with other top performers Zia Quizon, Marcelito Pomoy, Liezel Garcia, and Bugoy Drilon.

"Siyempre hindi ako makapaniwala kasi sa dami namin sa Star Magic eh hindi ko akalain na ako ang makakasama sa prod na gagawin namin sa ASAP. So parang nagulat ako nung binigay nila sa akin ito. Last year kasali ako then ngayon hindi ako makapaniwala na kasali ulit ako. Taon taon maraming mga nadi-discover na talents ang Star Magic na mga singer na magagaling then hindi ko akalain na kasali pa rin ako," he shared with Push.com.ph

The talented singer said he feels blessed to always feel welcome in the Star Magic family. "Pinakamasarap yung pag-aalaga nila sa akin. Siyempre sobrang laki ng pag-aalaga nila sa akin. Ang laki ng pagbabago na binigay nila dahil dati sa Batangas nagagawa ko pa yung mga kawalanghiyaan (laughs) nung hindi pa ako Star Magic like yung mga tambay tambay pa sa kanto. So ngayon alagang alaga kami ng Star Magic then ito pa yung masarap na nakaka-kasama ka sa mga US tour nila. Pag may tour abroad kasama ako kaya sobrang pasalamat ko talaga sa kanila," he explained.

Jovit said Star Magic has helped transform his life from being a food vendor in Batangas to bona fide rock star. "Sobra po yung pagbabago. Hanggang ngayon parang hindi kapani-paniwala ganun ang nangyari pag iniisip ko," he added.

Despite the surge of new up-and-coming singing talents in ABS-CBN, Jovit said he knows how to set himself apart and not feel threatened by the presence of other discoveries not unlike himself. "Sa akin naman, nakilala naman nila ako sa rock. So pagdating sa mga genre ng mga songs at mga singers na lumalabas, hindi naman ako natatakot na baka matabunan ako niyan o ganyan. Sa akin naman, ginagawa ko lahat at iba kasi yung genre ko, rock. So yun lang ako, ganun lang. Binibigyan pa rin naman ako ng ABS-CBN lalo na ng Star Records ng mga songs like nagri-revive ako ng mga songs like 'Pusong Bato' na hindi ko akalain din na sumikat," he said.

Jovit said he is also excited about the chance to perform for Filipinos abroad later this year as well as work on plans regarding a possible new album in 2014. "Sa September may Canada tour with the Champs ng ASAP. Then December sa Italy. Then sa next year baka maglabas ako ulit ng bagong album. Kasi nga nakilala ako sa puro revivals so ngayon naman may plano ako na mag-suggest ng gusto ko ipasok yung mga original songs ko pero OPM talaga," he admitted.

Judy Ann Santos feels saddened by Ai-Ai delas Alas's experience with domestic violence

Judy Ann Santos shared that one of the things that made her accept the teleserye Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala is the fact that it tackles domestic violence and aims to boost women empowerment. She actually reviewed all her previous soaps to make sure that she something new for her avid supporters.

"Yung story about women empowerment at para maipakita sa mga tao na ang babae hindi dapat sinasaktan, ang babae dapat matuto lumaban, basta nasa tama ang pinaglalaban niya. At the same time para ma-boost pakiramdam ng isang babae. Na hindi porket nagasawa ka, eh basta ka na lang papayag sa nangyayari lalo na kapag inaapi ka. Actually not necessarily as wife, kahit single nabubugbog. So gusto ko iparating sa soap na ito na hindi sa lahat ng pagkakataon lalaki nasusunod lalo na kung mali," she told the local press during her recent pictorial for Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala.

Incidentally, the theme of the soap is similar to what Ai-Ai delas Alas recently went through during her short-lived marriage with Jed Salang, who reportedly cheated on her and physically abused her at the same time. When asked to comment on the issue, Judy Ann maintained that it just so happened that the launch of her teleserye coincided with Ai-Ai's current dilemma. "Para sa lahat yung mensahe na gusto naming ipaabot sa teleserye. Pero hindi naman ito patungkol sa sitwasyon ni Ms. Ai. Mahal namin siya, we're all here for her. Nagkataon lang na ito ang tema ng teleserye namin. Sana marami kaming mahikayat na mga kababaihan na ipaglaban yung sarili nila."

Judy Ann added that she could just imagine how difficult it must have been for Ai-Ai to be in such a position. "Well, siyempre sad. Kaibigan natin si Ai. I don't know Jed personally. I have nothing else to say to him. It's just really sad na ang isang love story na pinangarap ng isang tao all of a sudden biglang nawala. Sana walang ganon 'di ba? Sana hindi umaabot ang lalaki sa puntong kailangan pagbuhatan ng kamay ang babae, ang asawa, o ang anak. Kasi hindi dapat nagkakasakitan ang mga tao."

Daniel Padilla does not want to feel pressured with his new series

With the success he's had on TV, movies, and in music, does teen star Daniel Padilla feel pressured to top his previous projects? "Alam mo naman di ako naprepressure kasi nga kung bumagsak man, 'yun ang gustong mangyari ng Diyos. Kung umangat, 'yun din ang gustong mangyari ng Diyos. So hindi ko kailangan mag-alala. Ang kailangan naming gawin ay ayusin at ibigay ang lahat," he remarked during an interview.

The young actor is set to star in a new teleserye titled Got To Believe to be directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina. When asked about his working relationship with the director, he shared, "Mukhang okay at masarap si direk Cathy katrabaho kahit isang araw pa lang," he shared.

When pressed if he feels intimidated by the director, Daniel commented, "Hindi naman ganon si direk Cathy. Basta makinig ka lang ng tama. Nasa artisa din yan eh, kung maayos ang ginagawa mo, maganda ang ginagawa mo, hindi siya magagalit."

On his new role, Daniel shared that it's far different from his previous one. "Iba siya sa character ko kay Gino (Princess and I) kasi si Gino naman kasi hindi siya misteryoso. Si Gino all out di ba? Ito namang character ko ngayon misteryoso, kakaiba," he relayed.

The Must Be Love star is ecstatic about his upcoming project with his on-screen partner and "ka-MU" Kathryn Bernardo. "Excited ako kasi syempre iba na naman ang gagawin ko dito sa character ko. At si Kathryn maganda rin yung character niya na as always maganda pa rin," he said.

Who are the stars that he would like to work with? "Ako naman hindi ako pumipili ng artista. Sino naman ako para pumili ng makakasama? Masaya ako kahit sino," he commented.

Carlo Aquino denies he is living in with his girlfriend, a former dancer

Carlo Aquino takes on his newest project, the remake of the '80s hit heartwarming family drama Annaliza where he plays the role of Makoy, the love struck suitor of Stella (played by Kaye Abad) who will kidnap newborn Annaliza from her parents (played by Patrick Garcia and Denise Laurel). Carlo admitted he enjoys playing challenging characters that help him showcase his versatility when it comes to acting.

Carlo who was a FAMAS Best Child Actor for his performance in the film Bata, bata. Paano Ka Ginawa?, admitted that he is happy with his personal life. The 27-year-old actor was known to have dated Star Magic talents Angelica Panganiban and Maja Salvador. He is now in a serious relationship with a dancer from the now defunct group called Eurasia. "Ngayon wala ng Eurasia eh. Mag-ti-three years na kami. Kristine name niya," he revealed. The talented actor denied that they are already living together. "Hindi. Minsan natutulog siya sa bahay pero hindi yung live-in talaga," he clarified.

The former child star said he is not ready yet for the responsibility of having a baby. "Hindi muna. Mahirap eh. mahirap di ba? Mas mabuti siguro kung stable na siya. Ibang responsibility pa kasi eh may iba pa akong mga responsibilidad sa magulang ko, sa pamilya ko. Yun muna di ba? Si Daddy hindi pa nakakapag-out of the country. Gusto ko pa dalhin si daddy abroad, yung mga ganung bagay," he admitted.

When it comes to his former girlfriends, Carlo says everything is okay with him and Angelica's new beau John Lloyd Cruz. "Oo naman, nung last year na Star Magic Ball pumunta ako sa suite nila, nag-inuman kami dun. Nandun kami nila Pooh. Wala na, napakatagal na nun. Nagkausap kami ni Lloydy, okay naman," he said. Carlo said he and Maja have no issues with each other anymore. "Oo, okay kami. Nagkita kami nung trade launch," he said.

Tila nakakabangon na sa kalungkutan ang Comedy Queen na si Ai Ai delas Alas matapos ang kanyang pakikipaghiwalay sa asawang si Jed Salang.

Sa Instagram account nito, umapila na ang aktres sa lahat ng mga taong nagmamahal at sumusuporta sa kanya na umusad na sa kontrobersiya.

Sam Milby talks about his experience being at the Cannes Film Festival

Fresh from his trip to France, Sam Milby shared that he was really overwhelmed by his experience at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. His indie film Death March, directed by Adolf Alix Jr. and where he stars together with Zanjoe Marudo, Carlo Aquino, and Sid Lucero, was part of the Un Certain Regard section, a smaller competition that showcased original and different works parallel to the Palm d'Or competition.

Shot in a studio with an all-synthetic and hand-painted backdrop designed by Marc Nicdao, the film was said to be innovative with its different representation of World War 2 by centering on the psychological experience of the soldiers during the Bataan Death March.

Although there were reportedly mixed reviews about the film, Sam maintained that sharing the whole experience with other film enthusiasts across the globe is something truly memorable for him. "The fact na Cannes Film Festival is the biggest film festival of the year, to be part of this competition, it's a huge thing. There's also a French producer who wanted to show the film in France. Ang alam ko rin kami lang ang may three screenings. So nakaka-proud talaga," said Sam who went straight to the promo shoot of his upcoming teleserye Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala on Wednesday, May 22.

In a separate interview with Push.com.ph, director Adolf was very happy with Sam's performance along with his co-stars in Death March. "It's my first time to work with Sam. He plays an American in the film. From the moment we discussed his role, he was very excited about it and I know he can deliver. Multi-charactered yung movie, it's an ensemble. So everybody has their own storylines that intertwine with each other. Lahat sila lead characters."

Apart from their screening, Sam further shared that he enjoyed seeing a lot of Hollywood stars during the red-carpet event in Cannes. Like a typical fan, he admitted that couldn't help but feel awe-struck with international celebrities like Zhang Ziyi, Liam Hemsworth, and Jennifer Lawrence. "Sobrang amazing yung experience. Pagdating namin, Steven Spielberg kaharap namin, naglakad siya tapos kami naman sumunod. There was an international press, they don't know who you are, but still, sharing that moment with A-listers like Steven Spielberg, who's one of the greatest directors of our time, is truly unforgettable."

In the meantime, Sam, who celebrated his birthday on the 23rd, is thrilled that Kapamilya viewers will soon see him taking on a different role in Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala. In the story, he plays a charming guy with whom Judy Ann Santos falls in love. But as soon as they get married, he turns out to be an abusive husband and a womanizer at the same time.

Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala premieres on primetime TV on June 17.

Eddie Garcia on Coco Martin: 'He will go places. He will do great.'

Eddie Garcia plays the role of the old 'tagabantay' Julian Romero in the primetime teleserye Juan dela Cruz. Now that he's working with Coco Martin, the veteran actor had nothing to say but great things about the soap's lead star.

In an exclusive interview with Push.com.ph, Eddie remarked that Coco's career will flourish even more considering that the latter is a superb actor. "I'm sure he will go places. He will do great," he said.

When asked if he thinks Coco will follow in his footsteps, Eddie was quick to respond that the actor needs not to follow him or anyone else when it comes to his acting career. "He doesn't have to follow [in] my footsteps because he has a style of his own and he has a great following," he commented.

Now that Juan dela Cruz has consistently landed the number one spot in primetime, Eddie attributed the success of the soap to Coco's versatility and the show's great storytelling. "[It's successful because] first of all the star is Coco Martin and then the story is a very well-written story and it has all the ingredients of a good telenovela," he said.

Eddie is enjoying his current role in the show and shared "It's a very exciting role." Did it occur to him not to say yes to the role? "When this was offered to me I was still doing a show for the other channel. I said it's going to end in January. They already started taping [Juan dela Cruz] so I said I won't be able to make it because I'm still taping MWF (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). But after I finished the show with the other channel, they called me again and said 'there is still a role for you here' and since I was through doing a show, I started doing Juan dela Cruz," he said.

With a great plot and with new characters in the teleserye, Eddie urged the viewers to continue watching the show. "My message to all the viewers is to continue viewing Juan dela Cruz. It's getting exciting everyday. Everyday it has a new twist and a new additional cast and the story will be liked by the viewers," he said.

Bugoy Drilon says there is no competition between him and Jovit Baldovino

As part of Star Magic's 21st anniversary celebration this Sunday, May 26 on ASAP, Bugoy Drilon said he feels very lucky to still be a Kapamilya after five years in the showbiz industry. "I'm so happy because sa ilang years na yun, na-re-recognize pa rin ako ng mga tao so I'm happy kasi bihira lang naman yung nabibigyan ng ganitong opportunity. Although kahit wala akong regular exposure on TV I'm happy kasi nakikilala pa rin ako ng maraming tao," he shared during ASAP rehearsals last May 21 inside the ABS-CBN compound.

The 23-year-old Pinoy Dream Academy alumni has been busy doing performances all over the country these past few months. "May mga mall shows ulit ako tapos may provincial shows. Pero I'm thankful nga ako na naka-guest ulit ako two straight episodes of ASAP 18 so I'm very happy about that. Tapos yung album ko and yun sa Himig Handog sana bumili sila," he told his fans.

Among his fellow artists, Bugoy said he is impressed the most with the singing of Pilipinas Got Talent Jovit Baldovino. "I'm a fan of Jovit Baldovino kasi nakaka-relate din ako sa kanya na from hirap nanggaling. I'm so happy for him. He's like my little brother, para kaming magkapatid niyan eh. Kapag may hindi siya alam tutulungan ko siya," Bugoy said.

The talented singer denied that there is any sort of rivalry between them. "Wala, wala talaga. Magkaiba naman kasi kami. Rock siya, ballads naman ako. We're good friends," he added.

Because of the influx of new singers every year, Bugoy said it is important to always try to grow even when you become popular. "As a singer and a performer, parang kailangan mo i-develop mo yung sarili mo kasi bawat tao nag-e-evolve. Kasi bawat taon may pumapasok na bago. Kailangan hindi ka stagnant. Kailangan mag-improve ka at i-push mo to the limit yung talent mo. Hindi lang sa talents pero pati na rin yung kung paano ka magdamit kasi nagre-reflect din yun sa pagkatao mo. Ako as an artist alam ko na galing ako sa hirap, masa ako. Pero I want na kahit masa ako I can look better, it's a process na puwede mo pa i-improve. Puwede yun. it's a process na pag-unlad," he explained.

Bugoy admitted that he has also tried to vary his interests when it comes to music. "Ngayon R&B ballads pa rin ako pero nakikinig ako sa mga classical din at sa mga rap. Kasi ako rin gusto ko ihalo yung lahat ng genre sa isang kanta pero mahirap eh. Kasi nagko-compose din ako ng mga kanta," he said.

Judy Ann Santos denies annulment rumors: '150 percent ang trust and loyalty ni Ryan'

Judy Ann Santos stressed that there's no truth to the circulating rumors that she and husband Ryan Agoncillo have secretly sought an annulment. Speculations about their separation have made headlines for several weeks now, claiming that there's a third party involved on Ryan's part. "Mayroon bang secret na annulment? 'Di ba wala? Sa napakadaming tsismoso dito sa Pilipinas, ma-i-si-secret mo ba ang annulment," said Judy Ann who merely laughed off the whole controversy during her promo shoot for the teleserye Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala earlier today, May 22.

While they're certainly not immune to marital spats, Judy Ann maintained that it never came to a point that they want to call it quits just because of a certain problem. "At saka parang sa amin ni Ry, kung ano man natutunan namin for the past 4 years na magasawa kami, talagang may darating na pagsubok. Ang sa amin lang dapat may natutunan ka para kung ano man nakaraan na pinagdaaanan hindi na ma-discuss. Hindi na maulit kasi galing ka na diyan eh."

Judy Ann also refuted persistent rumors that Ryan is a womanizer. As it is, the 35-year-old actress is very much secure with her relationship with him. She stressed that she has no problem with her husband having female friends. "Nakakatawa na lang. 'Susmaryosep! Napakagwapo mo Ryan. Ang gwapo gwapo mo, ang tangkad tangkad mo.' Natatawa na lang talaga kami. At saka naaawa ako, nahihiya ako sa mga babaeng kaibigan ni Ryan. Hindi ba pwedeng makipagkaibigan ang lalaking may asawa sa isang babae? Di ba natin pwedeng huwag lagyan ng kulay? Kasi magkaibigan lang naman. Baka naman layuan na ng mga babae si Ryan, mga kaibigang babae ha, klaruhin natin 'yan."

When it comes down to it, Judy Ann is confident that her husband would never betray her trust. "Yung trust and loyalty ni Ry, 150 percent 'yan. Hindi yan kahit kailan. Malalaman mo napaka-honest na tao ni Ry. Hindi siya yung tipo na magtatago sa'yo. Kung anong ayaw nya sasabihin niya, kung anong gusto nya sasabihin nya. Ganon siya ka-honest.

Judy Ann further shared how she and Ryan marked their fourth wedding anniversary last April. "Yes. Simple lang, nag-breakfast lang kami sa Tagaytay, nag-mass lang kami together kay Father Tito Caluag, nagpa-bless lang kaming dalawa, tapos umuwi na kami kasi nandun din sila mommy sa bahay, nag-lunch kami. Simple lang. Wala na masyadong ganap kasi fourth wedding anniversary naman."
