011813-coco-main.jpgAfter playing numerous roles in various Kapamilya teleseryes with the most recent being the blockbuster hit Walang Hanggan, Coco Martin admitted he is ready to step into a different kind of acting genre with the fantasy-action serye Juan Dela Cruz in 2013. “Sabi ko talaga, after ng Walang Hanggan. Siyempre nag sunod-sunod ako from Tayong Dalawa, Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo, Minsan Lang Kita Iibigan, at saka yung Walang Hanggan. Sinabi ko iba naman kasi gusto ko rin ma-challenge, ibang mundo naman,” he admitted during his presscon as the new brand ambassador of Max’s Restaurant held last January 15.

The Kapamilya heartthrob admitted he feels pressured about having his first solo series. Sana magawa ko ng tama,” he said.

The 31-year-old actor said he takes his role in Juan Dela Cruz seriously, because he knows how influential television is especially to the youth.

Coco said he will always choose to be level-headed about fame.

Coco, who plays a half-man, half-aswang in Juan Dela Cruz, admitted he has always wanted to play a character with super powers. “Masarap kasi dumaan ako sa pagkabata eh. Di ba lahat ng bata nangarap maging super hero? Ngayon gagampanan ko sa soap opera, ayun masarap ang pakiramdam sobra,” he said.

When asked which superhero was his favorite growing up, Coco did not hesitate to answer. “Siyempre si Superman, yun ang basic eh. Yun yun eh.

The talented actor said he is also not worried about competing head-on with other series in the same vein.
