As he celebrates the holidays with his family in Taipei this year, Enchong Dee said he is looking forward to doing some major bonding with his loved ones. “Siyempre kasi nga
for the whole year 2012 sobra akong naging
schedule so that time is for the whole family,” he said.
The 24-year-old actor admitted that he was very lucky when it came to his career this year. “Kasi yung pangarap ko na magbida sa pelikula na natupad siya yung sa The Reunion at yung sa MMFF (Metro Manila Film Fest) movie ko na The Strangers. Yung 2012 ko naging napaka-blessed, napakasaya. Yun nga lang napaka-hectic namin na minsan naduduling ka na sa dami ng ginagawa mo. Pero it’s a good problem di ba?” he admitted.
When it comes to his personal life, Enchong said he learned an important lesson this year. “Yung natutunan ko about love dapat you always know where it stands sa priorities mo,” he said. Despite his open admiration for Walang Hanggan star and his The Strangers co-star Julia Montes, Enchong said not much has changed when it comes to his relationship status. “Yung love life ko hindi naman medyo malungkot, masaya naman ako (laughs). Hindi naman medyo malungkot pero tahimik lang, ganun,” he admitted.
When asked if the rumor was true that he was getting jealous of Coco Martin because of the latter’s closeness to Julia, Enchong quickly denied that there was any such issue. “Hindi naman, wala namang selos na nangyayari. May nag-text pa nga sa akin na para yun sa promo nila sa show nila sa States. Sabi ko hindi niyo naman kailangan magpaalam sa akin, okay na okay lang naman ako sa mga ganung bagay, I’m very supportive (laughs),” he said. But would he be okay if Julia and Coco officially became an item? “Ay hindi ko alam (laughs). Tingnan natin pagdating ng panahon. Hindi ko alam kasi siyempre you can’t depend on rumors, you can’t depend on hearsay so let’s see. Until it’s final, tahimik lang ako, ayun,” he said. If ever it happens, Enchong admitted he has no right to intervene. “Hindi. Siyempre hindi. Wala naman akong karapatan para ma-hurt,” he added.
Enchong said he was thankful he was given the chance to work with Julia again after The Reunion. “There’s time to bond, to talk, ganun. Siyempre kasi the remaining time before the Metro Manila Film Fest mostly siya yung makakasama ko. Kasi yun nga, parang ang tagal namin na hindi nagkasama so magkikita ulit kami dun. Walang awkwardness siyempre. Whatever yung pakikitungo that we have, it will remain the same. Kasi kumbaga wala lang kaming time to bond pero pareho pa rin naman yun,” he explained.
When asked if he would consider Julia as the closest girl to his heart right now, Enchong chose to give a more general answer. “Maraming closest to my heart and she is one of them. Pero siyempre maraming close to my heart kasi hindi mo naman maitatanggi na marami rin akong naging kaibigan along the way,” he said.
The talented Ina, Kapatid, Anak actor said he is okay with his single status for now. “It feels the same. For the longest time I’ve been single. It feels the same. Wala namang longing. Wala naman kasi you have a lot of friends to keep you company so ayun. So when you relinquish your crowd, we have more time together,” he said.
For 2013, Enchong admitted he already has a wish list planned. “Professionally, meron akong wini-wish na project na sana magkatotoo. Personally, basta sabi ko patuloy lang na walang magkasakit, yun lang. Yun lang talaga,” he said.
As for his top-rated Primetime Bida soap Ina, Kapatid, Anak, Enchong said viewers should look forward to the development in the series next year. “It’s going to be heavier. It’s going to more mature. Ina, Kapatid, Anak will be more mature and more exciting definitely,” he revealed.
