X Factor Philippines
’ first grand winner KZ Tandingan was not bothered by the fact that the compilation album with her fellow finalists was to be released ahead of her solo album from Star Records. She said she would at least have enough time to write her own compositions that just might be included in the project.
[solo] album,” she said during the press conference for the X Factor Philippines
all-star album held last November 9.
Best known for her soulful singing voice, the 20-year-old admitted that there’s pressure for her to meet other people’s expectations, especially with her landslide victory in X Factor Philippines. But she’d rather think of it as a challenge to beat her own record and come up with more songs that touch people’s lives.
“Gusto ko talaga as a singer, gusto ko maka-move ng tao. Gusto ko maapektuhan ko sila in a good way [through my songs]. So I am taking it as a challenge na kahit hindi ako nakakabirit, kaya ko maabot yung iba pang naabot ng mga soul artists,” explained KZ who has been getting positive feedback for her rendition of “Killing Me Softly” in the said album.
KZ has also learned how to deal with the fact that she can’t please everyone. Pero at the same time marami ring hindi sangayon.
