JM de Guzman said that he would be more focused and disciplined now that he has been given a title role in Angelito: Batang Ama. “Oo, excited ako magtrabaho. Naging ugali ko na in every project na gagawin ko, right after nun kapag pinanonood ko parating kulang na kulang [ako sa acting ako]. Kaya excited ako na mas makapagbigay ng magandang performance ngayon,” said JM in an interview with Push.com.ph.
Although he’s a bit nervous about the viewers’ feedback on his performance, JM said that he would try his best not to be affected by other people’s expectations.
JM further shared that his character is a typical teenager who grows up in the province and has no sense of responsibility. Despite his elders’ constant warnings, he gets his girlfriend pregnant. Asked about his take on pre-marital sex, the 23-year-old actor replied, “Depende yun sa mga magulang natin kung paano nila ilalayo ang anak nila [sa temptations]. Well, masama talaga ang pre-marital sex. So kung gusto nila maiwasan yun, ma-i-inform sila this time.”
Should it happen to him in real life, is he willing to father a child at a young age?
