Gretchen Barretto was recently at the ABS-CBN Compound to shoot for the ABS-CBN Christmas station ID. In an interview afterwards, the actress revealed that she made the most out of her break by spending time for her family and for herself.
She added that she is now gearing up for her next TV project after Magkaribal and is now more than prepared to start working on the project which she expects to be physically demanding and time consuming.
Her light mood turned quite serious when she was asked about the recent controversy involving her younger sister Claudine Barretto. It was recently reported that Claudine was devastated when she found out that her bank account was empty when she went to the bank to withdraw money. It is not yet clear how her money vanished, although it was reported that it was a joint account between her and husband Raymart Santiago. Supposedly only either one of them has the authority to have access to the said funds.
“Right now, I’d rather not comment pagdating sa pamilya,” Gretchen began. “All I can really say is ipagdadasal ko siya ng ilang rosaryo and I think that’s all I can really do. Ayoko siyang palakihin.” She continued that the best thing to do now is to show moral support for her sister as she herself is going through a tough time now, though she did not elaborate. Gretchen explained, “As a sister I feel for her, as a sister siyempre may pinagdadaanan din ako. As a family may pinagdadaanan din kami so ayokong mag-comment tungkol don. All I know is kakapit kami sa Diyos.”
What she would rather focus on now is the teleserye Alta that Gretchen said they will start working on really soon. “I think first quarter of next year ipapalabas so we’re going to start taping really soon,” she said.
Gretchen added that she was able to bond with co-stars Angelica Panganiban and KC Concepcion through their workshops and was all praises for them because they are good actors and nice people. Also to be part of the teleserye are Sam Milby, Luis Manzano, and Zanjoe Marudo.
